Vale of Belvoir Shotokan Karate Club

Yesterday was a fantastic day at the KUGB National Championships with Dylan, Alex and Lyndon all competing and putting in great performances with great determination and attitude. Sensei Alex and Lyndon then donned their officials uniforms and were helping on the area tables and videoing whilst Sensei Myles had a busy day referreeing and judging. A great day out as always watching world class performance. There was also a bonus this year with very exciting matches with the Italian National squad as guests facing a Great Britain squad.

Dylan Ponsonby had a fantastic, albeit gruelling, England Kumite Squad training session with Sensei Frank Brennan in Liverpool yesterday. Great preparation for the National Championships this Saturday.

As the Easter break is coming to a close for some and others it has finished, here are a couple of pics from the final day of Torbay (training photo courtesy of KUGB).

Then yesterday a number of members were training in Repton at the Central Region Kata Squad with Sensei Frank Brennan, in a challenging, but as always rewarding session.

Great first day at the Spring Karate Course in Torbay. A number of club members are here. Toby is not pictured but here and Dylan coming on an overnight train to get here for Wednesday, hopefully to enjoy the glorious weather that we are having today.

Well done to everyone who joined us today in Torbay!

The first club training and grading session with Sensei Frank Brennan 8th Dan was held last night. A few club members trained enthusiastically and with great attitude. Many congratulations to Joel who showed great determination and attitude and was successfully graded to Orange Belt.

Schedule for Torbay. Really looking forward to it and have ordered nice weather.
