Riding Simulator Lessons I've always found it challenging to describe myself, but I've come to realise that it's whats make me good at what i do.

My passion for teaching is driven by moments with horses that resonate with me. There are times when we both struggle to understand each other, and moments when we move as one, creating an incredible bond. My journey with horses began as a working pupil in London's East End. L had various instructors, but one stood out. She believed in me, placing me on a skilled dressage horse, despite doubts fro

There is a huge focus on the correct position and rightly so.
It’s crucial that we understand the impact we can have on the horse.
However sometimes life comes along and everything we once knew feels so different. Something we did without effort becomes so much harder.
Having a chance to process this to realise you can still do it whilst knowing you are safe that is magical. The goal to start with just see if you still can.
A real privilege to work with this rider a true horsewoman who only wants the best for her horse.

“Due to a neurological problem I had not ridden for a year and was concerned about
being able to manage to ride again.

Lucy came highly recommended - we talked through my concerns and used the
simulator to identify tension areas allowing me to relax and concentrate on getting my
riding muscles working agian.

By the third session I was cantering and felt at home again on a horse - thank you Lucy”

I was 16 when I started as a working pupil
17 when I took my BHS exams and started teaching.
18 when I brought my first pony cheap because he liked to bolt.
19 when I went to work in America.
21 when I did my equine HND.
22 when i was told I was dyslexic.
23 when I completed my NVQ Level 3 and NVQ assessor award.
26 When I brought my 2nd pony you could barely touch him and he quickly earned the name mouldy Milo due to his condition. He was a special one ❤️
27 when I brought Barney my first Simulator.
41 When I trained in equine assisted therapy.
42 when I got my 2nd Riding Simulator Roo.

For every age there is a client I remember. A horse that taught me a lesson. A memory that helped shape who I am now.
What I taught at 17 isn’t what I teach at 44.
The rider I am now isn’t who I was then.
My understanding of horses has evolved. My understanding of riders has developed even more.
Riding isn’t meant to be the same all the time. Horses aren’t the same every time.
The Simulator won’t feel the same every time.
The lessons won’t be the same every time.
It’s ok for it to feel different it doesn’t mean it’s wrong.
I work with a lot of people who say it doesn’t feel the same and they feel like they can’t do it anymore.
Sometimes different might mean it’s just about to be even better!

Taking time to slow it down and understand where you are right now is one of the gifts of Riding a Simulator.
