RESULTS – PORK PIE OPEN SUNDAY 7th JUNE 2026
On a windy, but dry day the annual Pork Pie Open was held at MMGC at full capacity with over 250 players taking part. We are very grateful to our sponsors, Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe, for their fabulous support and to all staff and volunteers at the club who helped make the day run so smoothly. Ladies all square in their 2nd Handicap match at Charnwood
On a blustery and sometime rainy day at Charnwood Forest Golf Club, MMGC Ladies played their second handicap match of the season. In a hard fought match, Dee Hughes and Lady Captain, Alison Savage, managed to remain all square on the 18th hole. Nancy Denny and Jackie Fisher won their match 2 & 1, but unfortunately Jean Moulds and Jackie Ford lost theirs....

MMGC Mixed Team AM-AM with Wollaton Park GC
Thankfully, on Sunday 31st May, the rain stayed away for the Mixed Team's trip to Wollaton Park Golf Club. This was a new fixture for the team and everyone really enjoyed playing the course. We were also entertained by the Country music festival in Wollaton Park during the afternoon, but not by the Karoke section! The fixture was played as an AmAm with 8 teams in total made up of 2 players from each club....

MMGC are Four Way Friendly Champions
Congratulations - 4 way friendly champions On Friday 29th May, MMGC hosted Spalding, Greetham Valley and Belton Woods in a four way ladies' friendly and for the second time in four years, the Melton ladies came out on top. Teams of 4 players, one from each club, record an individual Stableford score and the total score from all 8 players determines the winning team....

Women in Golf 2026 – Congratulations on completing the 8 week course
12 ladies have just completed their 8 weeks of MMGC Beginners Golf sessions. They have met every Tuesday evening for coaching with the clubs affiliated MindFit golf professional, Tony Westwood supported by Jackie Fisher MMGC Women in Golf Charter Champion. Each week they learnt and practised new skills followed by a drink and chat in the clubhouse. On 19th May they played a 6 hole Greensome with ladies who had completed the course in previous years....

Results – Senior Spring Open – 14th May 2026
One hundred and four players took part in our Senior Spring Open played over eighteen holes from the yellow tees. Refreshments were provided by our Lady Captain and her band of ladies at the Halfway House and this was gratefully received. Other ladies helped the day by manning the check-in desk and acting as starters. There were many comments on the excellent presentation of the course, and refreshments were most welcome after play....

MMGC Mixed Match v Lingdale Sunday 10th May
On a sunny but chilly spring day, the mixed team welcomed Lingdale Golf Club for their first home match of the season. The game was played in Four Ball Betterball match play format with 8 pairs in each team. All of the games were extremely close with 6 going down the last hole. Both teams won 3 and halved 2 games with the overall result being a 4-4 tie. Many thanks to everyone who took part. The next match is on 17th May away against Beedles Lake Golf Club.

Lady Captain’s Away Weekend at Kenwick Park
Twenty five ladies gathered in the Lincolnshire Wolds for 2 days of golf at Kenwick Park, a picturesque and challenging course. The first day was run as a Florida Scramble so players could get used to the course and the winning team came in with a sub 60 score! On day two, it was a singles Stableford format and 6 ladies came in at on handicap or better....
