π€ PRIMARY COMMERCIAL PARTNER | SHADOW SURFACING LTD
Merthyr RFC is delighted to recognise the continued and considerable support of Shadow Surfacing Ltd as a Primary Commercial Partner for the 2026/27 season.
A local Merthyr business with a growing reputation in groundworks, civil engineering and surfacing, Shadow has built its business around quality workmanship, professional delivery and a strong commitment to health & safety.
Led by Jamie Crimmings, Shadow's support of the Ironmen this season represents a significant investment in the club and includes prominent branding at The Wern, matchday hospitality and player sponsorship.
But this partnership is about more than putting a logo around the ground.
One of the aims of our commercial programme this season is to work with businesses that genuinely want to be part of Merthyr RFC and the wider community, and Shadow's commitment is a great example of that.
We'd like to place on record our sincere thanks to Jamie and everyone at Shadow Surfacing for backing the club so strongly.
Support like this makes a real difference to Merthyr RFC, and we're looking forward to giving Shadow the recognition and exposure their commitment deserves throughout the season.
Thank you for backing the Ironmen. π€π

π΄ββοΈππ COAST TO COAST | IN MEMORY OF TONY SOANES
This weekend, 12 riders will take on an incredible challenge, cycling more than 200 miles from the coast of North Wales to the coast of South Wales in just two days, raising money for Brain Tumour Research in memory of a fantastic servant and great friend of Merthyr RFC, Tony Soanes.
Leading the ride will be Tonyβs three sons, Matthew, Chris and current Ironman James Soanes, proudly carrying a little piece of Merthyr RFC with them along the way.
Setting off from Llandudno on Saturday, the team will make their way across Wales with the aim of reaching home soil and the welcome of The Red Lion, Heolgerrig on Sunday afternoon.
A huge challenge for a very special cause and, most importantly, a fitting tribute to Tony. β€οΈ
The riders would also like to thank Afon Taf High School for the use of their minibus, EC Cycles for the support vehicle and bike maintenance, Ollie Roberts at Wildwood for the pre-ride meal and La Bocata for providing food at the finish.
Everyone at Merthyr RFC wishes the whole team the very best of luck. We'll be behind you all the way.
If you're able to, please support their fundraising for Brain Tumour Research:

For Tony. From North to South. Over 200 miles. One incredible cause. ππ
