AFC Middleham 2 - 5 Richmond Town
A bad day at the office for The Boars yesterday as we fell to defeat agaisnt a strong Richmond side.
Missing 5/6 of our regular starting XI, we knew it was an uphill task - but the lads dug deep with many playing out of position - not helped with losing the Skipper inside 20 minutes due to an injury. You'd need to cast back to November 2024 when we suffered a defeat as bad as this! Simply not at the races.
Nevertheless - Dean Perryman & George Catterall clinched two late consolation goals, and Scotty Guy picking up MOM - and we now dutlst it off and go again as we look ahead to the next game!
Football was the real winner though - when we received a message from a group of 5 gents from Udine in Italy mid-week, who wanted to visit and watch the game and join us back at The Dante Arms for some food and drink afterwards 🙌🇮🇹 A group of friends who still play Sunday football back home, and come over to the UK every other year to explore... so caught Burnley v Derby on the Saturday, then enjoyed a game at The Castle Ground on Sunday having been staying locally... we gifted them a Middleham shirt and we received one of their club scarfs - which will be displayed at each club.
Thank you for visiting Maiko Bertolin & friends - we hope you have a safe trip home!
