Great day down at the Club today. We hosted TABS Cricket Club from Boston Spa and we were able to put on two games at the same time by utilising the Nursery Ground. On the main pitch we had the u14s and on the Nursery Ground we had the u11s. It was honours shared across the day as the Marton u14s were victorious in both their games but TABS u11s ran out winners in both their games. Excellent Cricket on display from both teams throughout the day.

We had a few girls down at Thornaby Cricket Club today taking part in the Catch the Spirit event promoting the upcoming Women's T20 World Cup.
Plenty of different drills for the girls to try today but the winner might have been the Bouncy Castle! After trying all the drills there was a couple of competitions for the girls to take part in and our very own Ruby won the batting competition, and Lucy and Martha came third in the catching competition. We also had Margaux, Mia, Beth, Niamh and Connie taking part.

3 wins out of 3 today for the Marton U11s softball team.
There was 7 teams in total today at the softball festival hosted by Sedgefield which was a great turnout for the first festival of the season. Marton beat Richmondshire, Norton and Newton Aycliffe in our fixtures. The girls bowled, fielded and batted superbly in all 3 games.

Victory for the Marton Ladies tonight playing away at Rockcliffe in the NYSD Hardball Hundred. In just their 4th ever game and 2nd playing hardball they ran out winners by just 4 runs in a well contested game. Marton batted first and made 89 for 3 with Rockcliffe bowled out for 85.
Away again next week to Newton Aycliffe for the Ladies.

The Marton Women made their hardball debut in the NYSD Hundred tonight away to Great Ayton.
The result didn't go our way but what an experience it was for our girls and plenty to learn from for next time out.

🏏Saturday Results🏏

A disappointing result for our first XI this week, after been asked to bat first we were bowled out inside 25 overs for just 72. The visitors were clinical in the reply knocking it off without the loss of a wicket.

The 2nd XI travelled to Darlington and came away with a battling draw picking up 9 points. Putting the hosts into bat we found it difficult to control the run rate at times but fought back to restrict them to 251/6 off their 50 overs.
In reply it was a stuttering start with the target looking a long way off, it was the experienced (sponsored by A&N Safety Consultants) who struck an unbeaten 67 off 137 balls ensuring we came away with a draw. and .singh29 also chipped in with valuable knocks.
