7 BENEFITS OF RESISTANCE TRAINING

What ways can you hold yourself accountable?
When working towards your goals.
Accountability is key when it comes to achieving the goals you have set.
How do you hold yourself accountable?
1. PLAN AHEAD: Plan and schedule your week ahead. Start each week by writing down your schedule such as when you're going to be working, the times you are going to train at the gym and other plans & social events you may have.
By planning ahead, time management will feel much easier so you know when & where you're going to be for the week or month ahead.
2. HAVE A PLAN:
Make sure you have a structured program to follow. By not having a structured plan, tracking progress in workout sessions will leave you unable to see the progress you have made during sessions from week to week.
3 WORKOUT PARTNER
Having a workout partner can be a great benefit for some people. Working alongside someone who is just as determined as you is a great way of holding each other accountable.
4. TAKE PROGRESS PHOTOS:
Progress photos are a great way of seeing/tracking your progress. Progress can be slow. If you're constantly standing on the scales hoping to see your weight go down, you're going to be disappointed and potentially give up quickly. Stepping on the scales isn't just fat loss. There are a number of different bodyweight fluctuations to consider. Instead, take photos once a month and understand that you'll only see change on the scales over a longer period of time.
5 CELEBRATE YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS:
If you've dropped some weight or improved your strength, make sure you celebrate it and be proud of your achievement.
6. HIRE A COACH:
I could write out multiple paragraphs on the benefits of hiring a coach but I'm going to keep it short. A coach can hold you accountable to the plan they have put in place for you. A good coach will help improve your daily life whilst also supporting you outside of your gym sessions.

YOUR RESULTS WON'T HAPPEN OVERNIGHT!
One of the biggest misconceptions in the fitness industry is that people think results happen in 4-6 weeks.
This is BS!
It's not surprising when you take into account the amount of misleading rubbish on social media.
Don't get me wrong, you will see some changes to yourself in the first month or 2 if you're a beginner. Don't expect this for very long. The longer we train consistently, our bodies begain to adapt.
Progress will slow but this is completely normal process. As long as you're still progressing on your lifts and your weight is slowly going down and so on then you're on the right path to successful results. It might take time to achieve the results you want but with consistency, everything will fall into place.
Let's be honest - if the results you wanted were quick and easy to get then everyone would do it and we would all be lifting trucks above our heads.
It's normal as humans to want something quickly. But the reality is Rome wasn't built in a day.
Most importantly, enjoy the process.

A little bit about me:
Hi, I'm Conor
A Personal Trainer & Online Coach who loves to keep fitness exciting. I have been a Coach for 4 years. I started fitness back when I was 18 and never looked back.
