To those who may have read, received or been sent the below message, as we have absolutely no doubt that private messages will be circulating and are the height of gossip within the dance world, we feel that a few things absolutely need to be acknowledged and set straight…
As much as social media isn’t the best place to air dirty laundry as the saying goes, it is sometimes the only / best way to reach a wider audience and is what is required in a situation like this…
Everything said in the below message is lies!
To keep it brief initially, when we moved in to this studio, it was a decision that had to be made quickly, and was of course made with the best interests of our school and pupils at the forefront, in order to keep our school going, as we found ourselves having to leave the premises we were in immediately and couldn’t secure premises of our own in time. It also benefitted us financially of course, in terms of sharing rent bills etc, as it would anyone. The plan was always to simply remain as two different schools running from the same building…..
Now moving on, as many of you will know Maloney stage school is one of the longest running schools in Teesside, having been established over 50 years ago - you may have even seen pictures etc from the cabaret evening we had at the weekend in celebration of this fabulous achievement - how convenient that a post trying to again tarnish our names then comes so soon following this!
All of the posts, name calling, accusations and slander against us over the last couple of months have come as a result of us simply wishing to leave the studios that we shared occupancy of, this was for many reasons, none of which need to be disclosed or explained in this, and we are well within our rights to move on to different premises at any time that we choose.
The lies that are printed in the post below are just a handful of the countless lies that have been told over the last few weeks / months.
Numerous claims and accusations of bullying and racism have been thrown at us, but with no actual evidence to back them up. This is because there is no evidence, as it is simply untrue. We have defended ourselves when necessary, as anyone would, but have certainly never bullied or been racist to anyone.
What we will say though, is that we have been called awful names and had awful things said about us not only to us directly, but also to a parent from our dance school, who understandably was upset by this and brought it to our attention.
If we had not then brought this to the teacher of the other studios attention, they wouldn’t have brought it to us and we would be then potentially still be sharing the studio, with them acting as if nothing is wrong when they quite clearly had huge issues to be saying such awful things.
The situation then escalated and due to being spoken to in the terrible ways that we were, we were then left with no choice but to leave the premises, for the health and wellbeing of not only ourselves, but our students and their parents.
We have been spoken to absolutely appallingly, disgustingly, and sworn at more times than we can count. We have been called many awful names, the worst of which, a disgusting word beginning with the letter C… this word being used to tarnish all 4 teachers at Maloneys, two of which are women over the age of 60! which really is beyond comprehension, especially from someone who claims to be professional, and as stated countless times that they are ‘a man of loyalty and respect’.
We have been abused and name-called in relation to personality, appearance, and even parenting ability!
Add in to that the uncountable number of other names we’ve been given and it is just incomprehensible.
The claims of racism and bullying are categorically untrue. The quoted phrases in the below status are completely made up, we have taught pupils of many races and ethnicities over the last 50 years, as well as having family relations and personal relationships with people from different races and religions.
We have been abused with voice messages that have been so painful and upsetting to listen to, for them to then be deleted as to cover up the level of nastiness and abuse.
Prior to leaving we were even locked out of the building that we paid for, and prevented from entering on the usual days we teach classes.
All of our students stopped from being able to do the thing they love most and attend their classes with all of their best friends, and yet it is claimed you ‘wanted to show support and maintain wellbeing’. This is clearly not true.
And then, all of our belongings that were in the studio, equipment props etc, were shot outside and left in the street.
However let it also be known that due to the kindness and generosity of other organisations within the local community, our students fortunately did not have to miss a single class.
We have been accused of ‘making thousands of pounds and not offering any money towards electric or bills’ which is a complete lie, and on the contrary it has since come to our attention that we were actually been paying a a significant amount more than half of costs, which is what was agreed when we moved into the premises.
We have also been made aware of the building being used for reasons and things more than the dance studio that we know it to be. These are things which won’t be named in this post but have been passed on to relevant authorities.
We have come to realise that the initial claim of a harmonious environment was never the aim, and there was always an ulterior motive. But as the saying goes, hindsight is a wonderful thing, and had we realised this at the start, we would never have moved into the premises.
This is the only post that will be made in order to address this situation and hopefully put the rumours and awful things that have been said about us to rest.
We are a school that has been running for over 50 years and have never had to publicly address or share information such as this, as we have never encountered such issues, public nastiness or abuse.
We have no doubt that there will be more posts made about us, or directed at us, as we have seen this countless times in the past when issues have arose between this person and other schools / teachers / parents / choreographers etc, and can only imagine the number of messages that will be sent in private and the nasty things will be said. However, we will not be responding to anything further, and any public slander that takes place from this point forward will be reported to the relevant authorities.
