Cup week this week, as Great Ayton retained the Captain Cook’s Cup when we played Stokesley on Sunday and then yesterday at President’s Day, the President’s team won by 4 shots. 31 of us then enjoyed a high tea. Thanks to everyone who took part in both events.

Saturday is President’s Day when teams representing the President and the Chairman will play each other, followed by tea. This event will start at 14:00 not 10:00 as printed in the fixtures booklet.

A big thank you to everyone who supported our open day yesterday. Some drizzle in the morning reduced our opportunity to give some visitors a try, but a bright afternoon allowed some who returned to have a go and club members to enjoy a Rollup. Thanks to our bakers who provided plenty for the cake stall, which along with the raffle were well supported to add to club funds.

Not the best of weeks for results and extremes of weather.

Only two league matches last week, both in The Cleveland Afternoon League, two points from our home fixture v KGV Royals (22:14 & 15:25) then one point from the away match v Marske Blues (18:18 & 17:15).

Despite the heavy rain on Friday morning the green dried out for the few who braved the heat for Afternooners and then we had a pleasant evening hosting a visit from Great Ayton Guides.

We also enjoyed a good social Pie and Peas followed by a quiz after the Thursday Rollup.
