There’s a lot we don’t do at JRD
And that’s exactly why it works.
No 6-week quick fixes, no smashing you into the ground every session, no cutting out all the foods that you enjoy, no training 5–6 days a week and no relying on motivation
Because none of that fits real life.
Most people don’t fail because they’re lazy, they fail because the plan was never sustainable.
We keep it simple: 2–3 sessions per week, food that’s normal and not perfect, habits you can actually stick to
No extremes, just consistency.
That’s what gets results 👍

Most people look at this and just see a barbell.
But it’s one of the most effective tools in the gym.
Simple.
Versatile.
Proven.
With a barbell you can train your entire body, build real strength, improve bone density, transform your body and get fitter without needing dozens of fancy machines.
Squats
Deadlifts
Presses
Rows
Just solid movements that work.
You don’t need complicated, you need the right tools and a plan to use them properly.
And sometimes, the most powerful piece of kit in the gym is also the simplest 💪

Just turning up even when you’ve had a long day at work or a bad nights sleep.

10 Years of Karen
Couldn’t be prouder of this one!
In the time that Karen’s been with us, she’s become a shining example of what a JRDer is:
✅ Supportive
✅ Hard working
✅ Consistent
✅ Great craic
But the thing I love most about Karen is easy…..
How tall she makes me look 🤣
She’s been with us all the way from being a one man band in a tiny room, to a team of four in a fully kitted out facility
She’s been with us through the growth and development of JRD as well as the shrinkage and decline of my hairline 😃

If January’s already slipped then read this.
Be honest, did you start the year fired up, promise yourself this time will be different,
then miss a few sessions and now it feels awkward going back?
You haven’t failed.
You’ve just experienced what most people do.
January fails usually happen because:
• You tried to change everything at once
• Life got busy (work, kids, stress, tiredness)
• You missed a week and thought “what’s the point now?”
That’s not laziness.
That’s real life.
The problem isn’t you.
At JRD Fitness we don’t expect perfection.
We expect you to show up as you are.
No mirrors.
No posers.
No judgement if you’ve had a bad week (or month).
You don’t get “back to square one” here.
You just pick up where you left off with coaches who know your name and members who feel just like you.
January doesn’t decide your year.

🎄 Training over Christmas… it doesn’t have to be perfect, just consistent.
This time of year is busy, stressful and full of food and that’s great. Enjoy it.
But don’t sack everything off just because it’s December.
Get a couple of sessions in. Move your body. Lift something.
It’ll keep your head right, your energy up and stop you feeling like you’re starting from zero in January.
You don’t need “all or nothing”.
Just something and that’s more than enough.
Keep ticking over, keep looking after yourself, and enjoy Christmas without the guilt.
