Player of the game v Frodsham Park JFC was Tyler Noden. His work rate was outstanding and he ended up with 4 good goals including his first ever headed goal!

Player of the game v Macclesfield Tigers was Rob Williams. Won every header and always tried looking for the pass.

A very early start on a warm Sunday morning away in Macclesfield. On a narrow pitch Town never really got going, just doing enough to get a 4-1 win. We would like to thank Macclesfield and the referee for allowing us to do a minutes silence this week as we will not have a game next week.

Zach Billinge opened his Town account after just 2 minutes when he latched onto a Brad Cookson header and cut inside the full back before unleashing a screamer into the top corner. Ten minutes later it was 2-0 and Zach again, this time getting on the end of a superbly weighted left wing cross from Harry Breakey. Rob Williams was controlling the midfield in both half's and this won him the player of the match award.

Second half Town started slow and conceeded only their second goal of the season when a corner was not cleared and the Macc player smashed in from the edge of the area. It took until the last 10 minutes for Town to put the game beyond Macc, with Max Williams dancing past 3 challenges and passing through to Harry who smashed it into the top corner. Ryan McMurray on at right back in the second half then broken forward and picked out Tyler Noden and he placed the ball past the on rushing keeper to make it 4-1.

Player of the game v Holmes Chapel was Liam Finlayson. Played both full back positions, was solid in defence and eager to attack when he had the chance.

Another game switched to the away ground due to the weather saw Town visit Holmes Chapel. A poor first half performance saw the game 0-0 at half time. Zach Billinge making his debut was denied a certain penalty 10 minutes into the game which may have settled the lads down.

After a half time team talk where the lads were reminded of what is expected of them saw Town start better in the second half. Rory Brookes picked out Harry Breakey on the left and he hit a half volley from 25 yards out that screamed into the net. Stunning goal. Less than 60 seconds later it was 2-0, Harry was fouled in the box and this time the ref gave the penalty. Harry sent the keeper the wrong way, obviously his confidence was high after the goal.

Jack Walker headed a shot off the line to keep out Holmes Chapel. Liam Finlayson was playing superbly in both full back positions and earned himself the Player of the Game award.

Substitutions were made to get fresh legs onto the pitch and this saw Max Williams beat 2 men with quick feet on the edge of the box and pick out the bottom corner with a great strike. Need to take the confidence from the second half performance into the next game now.

Player of the game v Vale was Brad Cookson. An all action display in midfield and a coolly taken penalty for his first goal of the season.

After last week's good win we needed to push on again this week. Liam Findlayson and Leon Walker made their debuts this week as well. Town started poorly and could have been 2 down but great saves from Ben Price kept Vale out. Once we woke up though we were in it. Goals from Harry Breakey (2), Tyler Noden (2), Rory Brookes and Ryan McMurray put us firmly in control at half time. Rory's goal in particular was a stunning strike from outside the box.

Second half we tried to keep the ball and play more like we do in training. It took us 25 minutes to score with Ryan McMurray netting. Then Brad Cookson scored a penalty after he was brought down in the box. The last goal was in the final seconds of the game when a Vale defender headed Rob Williams corner into his own net. Jamie Dyson and Jack Walker kept out the Vale forwards as the team earned their first clean sheet of the season.

A good performance all round. This should fill the lads with confidence moving forward.
