From this September, the new Nofio Ysgol programme will begin rolling out across Wales, giving more primary school pupils access to swimming and water safety lessons.

The programme will roll out to every primary school in Wales by 2028.

A landmark moment for swimming and water safety in Wales 🏊‍♂️💧

We’re incredibly proud to announce our partnership with Welsh Government to deliver Nofio Ysgol, a new national school swimming and water safety programme launching this September.

The programme will be phased in over three years, reaching every school in Wales by 2028–29.

This is a major step forward, bringing us closer to our ambition of giving every Welsh child the opportunity to learn a vital life skill, build confidence, live a healthier life and stay safer in and around water.

This announcement coincides with the first day of Swimming and Para Swimming at this year’s Commonwealth Games. 21 talented Welsh swimmers are competing, showcasing the breadth of talent in our national team, and they will hope to inspire a new generation of athletes.
