đ« From Shy to Shining: The Power of Supportive Coaching
đ Itâs Monday morning and members are arriving for their cardioâpulmonary exercise session with me. Among them is a shy, homesick woman doing her best to stay positive on day one of her placement, despite feeling far from home. Week by week she grew - she spoke more, stood taller, smiled brighter, walked with purpose, and trained with confidence. She became a trusted and valued support in my classes. She smashed her exams. Success -congratulations!
đ This can be you! Hear her story - I'M SO PROUD! đ
My name is Mohanjit. I completed my Bachelor of Physiotherapy in India. After that, I worked as a Senior Physiotherapist at a charitable trust for four years, and as an evening physiotherapist at a private orthopaedic hospital for almost two years.
Alongside this, I also worked as a science lecturer for about four years. I later felt the need to upgrade my skills, so I travelled to the UK to pursue an MSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology at the University of Bedfordshire.
As part of the programme, I went to MKCCG for my placement, where I met Chantalle every Monday for the cardiac sessions. I have learnt so much about planning sessions, understanding duration and intensity, designing circuits, and tailoring sessions to clientsâ needs while targeting multiple muscle groups and improving physical fitness.
All I want to say is that it is truly a blessing to have a mentor like Chantalleâsomeone who is always ready to help, motivate, answer questions, and make you feel more confident in your career with all the knowledge and guidance you need.

đ«Looking well on the outside but internally struggling â who hears me when I say this?
As a coach, I look healthy and strong because I eat well and exercise. But on the inside, I have a weakness: coeliac disease and gastritis, always lurking and waiting for their moment.
I thrive on a good day. Feeling energised, I run, I spin, or I lift heavy weights. I hit my goals hard. But on a flareâup day? I need to take a step back and give my body time to find its way and kick back into action. This doesnât mean doing nothing - because doing nothing doesnât help my mindset. I give my body the love it needs.
My advice is this: listen to your body, move for your needs, and donât give up the time youâve allocated to yourself. You might be thinking, How do I do this? If youâre anything like me, life is busy. Set yourself realistic times during your week to focus on you. Plan what you want to do - a long walk, yoga, strength work, whatever feels right. Take the pressure off. This is your time. Donât procrastinate on the challenge; focus on the achievement of giving yourself that time to look after your health.
Symptoms flaring - what now? You give your body the love it needs. Your mindset for wellness kicks in. What can I do? How do I make the most of my time? What will make my body feel good? So, what if your circuit workout becomes light cardio and mobility today - you showed up and did what was right for your body. Success, well done! Take pressure off and tick your achievement box for the day.
Remember, be kind to yourself and applaud all achievements, no matter how big or small.

đ«From intimidated gym girl to elite coach â hereâs my story.
đRoll back 15 years and there I was, exploring the gym for the very first time, realising that three years earlier the gym was a place I never dreamt of going. Every mirror felt intimidating, I had no idea what I was doing, but there was a little fire in my belly telling me I had to start looking after my body. It wasnât easy, but I was inspired by the motivation of others â If they can, I can too!
I started with classes, then began PT â incredible coaches who, to this day, remain the best I have ever encountered. Looking back, I thank them for building the strong foundations that were going to transform me into an elite coach.
Pregnancy and motherhood did not hold me back from training, but it was not easy! A few years into my fitness journey, my body was changing and my approach to health and fitness had to change with it. I felt challenges like never before. This was the pivotal moment that shaped my career forever. I kept hearing the voices of other trainers telling me, âYou are a natural,â âYour technique is amazing,â and âYou would make a great coach â you listen to people.â
This new mother took a leap of faith and retrained as a PT â life was about to get interesting.
Years passed. After countless qualifications, moving house and relocating, three business setâups, and helping people with health and fitness in community and project work, this tired but accomplished woman is ready. It has not been an easy journey; I will save these stories for another day.
đȘThis coach today is on a mission to help people living with health conditions.
No one should struggle alone. It can be a confusing world; there is so much information about health, fitness, wellness, and nutrition â what is right, and what comes first? This is where I help you answer those questions, identify your needs, and plan your journey.
I say, âIf you donât need me anymore, then I have done my job well.â I coach people on how to live a better lifestyle for them. I listen â no judgement, just focus on your wants and needs.
