Bright sunshine again for the second week running, and plenty of shooters enjoying both the weather and the targets. Ages ranging from under 13 to over 80! Well done to Vic, Jason, Adam and Hattie for excellent progression in their respective lessons. Keep up the good work. Get those licence applications in and consider some competition shooting. High score on the 70 bird sporting was 62!

Brilliant sunshine all day to day, what a pleasant surprise! Plenty of people turned out in the sunshine to shoot a 70 bird sporting layout with some reasonably challenging birds. Due to a last minute cancellation I got the chance to watch a squad in action. Then Tom, Ann and Ben came for a 2 hour joint lesson. Really good progress from Tom and Ben and a great start for Ann on her first lesson. Finished off today with a 2 man 25 shot trial. Good to see so many new faces taking up the sport.

Feet up on a Bank Holiday Monday after 2 days of full on instructing. Lovely weather and great venues. 10 people with the youngest being 11 years old. The youngsters over the 2 days, 11, 13 and 16 are really coming on nicely and making me very proud.
Keep on smashing ‘em! (With the correct process of course). Every single adult is also making massive improvements. Well done all 👏

It’s great to see so many new people coming and trying clay pigeon shooting. Many who make it there “First” lesson and immediately book for more regular lessons. Young, not so Young, Men, Woman, Couples, Friends and whole Families. Well done to Tom and Ben yesterday who “Smashed it” big time on their first joint lesson. Just 2 of 6 newcomers to the sport who came yesterday!
Also, well done to all my regulars who are now licenced and out there enjoying this wonderful infectious sport. Keep up the good work. 💥

HSE Lead Update:

Following the end of the HSE consultation period in November, the HSE have today confirmed a further 6-month extension to the process due to the overwhelming response since it launched!

CPSA CEO Iain Parker who sits on the board of the British Shooting Sports Council (BSSC) commented: “We are working very closely with the HSE on what is clearly a complex issue, hence the 6-month extension to the process. From our perspective, our position remains the same, that lead in ammunition be allowed to continue in our sport and we will actively work with the HSE to protect our sport.”
