Tonight was a special evening for the Belles as they were visited by Wendy from the Bedfordshire Girls Football League, who presented them with medals and a trophy to mark their achievement of being Bowl Cup Competition WINNERS 🏆

As coaches, we couldn’t be prouder of the determination, development and hard work these girls put into playing football. After a tough first season, this season really has seen these girls go from strength to strength and we can’t wait to see where the rest of this season takes them.

Well done Belles, a well deserved win 👏🏼 🌟

📅 Saturday 18th January

First game back after a long break due to unplayable pitches, Christmas holidays and more unplayable pitches. 🙄
With a very early morning the Belles travelled and played away in another Plate Competition game! A slow first quarter saw the girls finding their feet on the pitch again. The second quarter the girls flow and confidence was back, they were playing through balls to each other left, right and centre creating some brilliant opportunities. As the game progressed the Belles took control of the game, showed great composure on the ball and played out from the back to the front which meant they began to hit the back of the net. A fantastic returning game with a clean sheet👏🏼

📅 Saturday 25th January

The Belles played at home today and what a brilliantly competitive game it was. The Belles saw a few players absent this week due to illness, meaning there wasn’t many opportunities for a breather, however this didn’t stop them!
The Belles battled extremely well today in a very evenly competitive game. Again the Belles remained composed on the ball throughout and worked really hard defensively, with our midfield making some brilliant runs. A drop of the ball by the opposition keeper meant Violet took the opportunity and hit the back of the net scoring the first goal of the game. 👏🏼 In the second half we went straight in with determination to keep ahead, we took some opportunities to use power to shoot from distant which were narrowly missed however we love to see this confidence! A few great passes and a run down the wing saw Cali take a shot and beat the keeper. 👏🏼

Another great game of football played and another clean sheet 💪🏼 Well done Belles you all worked really hard as a team today and every single one of you gave 110% 👏🏼

🌟 Plate Competition- Game 2 🌟

A defeat for the Belles this weekend sadly.
The opposition were incredibly strong, quick paced and made some powerful shots which were just impossible for our keeper to keep out.

The Belles seemed rattled by the strength of the opposition and struggled to find their flow and match the oppositions pace this weekend. Our heads weren’t in the correct mindset which unfortunately meant we took a hard defeat.

With this said, we firmly believe the Belles will only learn from this by building their resilience and understanding our heads need to be in the game to play our best. We go again next week, stronger and more determined 💪🏼

🌟 PLATE Competition - Game 1 🌟

A fantastic performance and win for the Belles 👏🏼

It was a windy day and The Belles struggled in the first quarter as the weather was against them, leaving them 2 goals down at the end of the first quarter.
The second quarter came and the girls really picked up the pace whilst understanding the ball doesn’t travel as far when kicking against the wind. Once they realised this they settled into the game and controlled the second quarter.

Quarters 3 and 4 saw The Belles come back fighting and take full control of the game now the wind and rain was behind them. They all played some exceptional football, making some lovely challenges, passes and crosses into the box resulting in Cali, Sophia and Violet hitting the back of the net. The Belles made an exceptional come back and the result was well deserved, they didn’t drop their heads and continued to battle despite the early scoreline and the poor weather. A brilliant team effort by all! 🌟

The best performance and match played so far this season. Resulting in a win for the Belles 👏🏼

The Belles played away and had such an incredible game against a truly lovely opposition.

The Belles worked really hard this week on implementing what they learned in training with positioning to create space, passing across the pitch to switch up the play and filling the gaps when players move. It really was incredible for us coaches to watch the girls implement this training into game day.

The whole team had a solid performance from Holly using and dominating her whole box, defence chasing down every ball to protect our keeper, to our midfield players making some beautiful runs, passes and crosses into the box.

Another weekend of football for the Belles and another win under their belt 👏🏼

The Belles played a team which saw a few of our players feeling apprehensive to begin with, however from kick off the Belles played with such determination. Quick thinking and quick interceptions meant Cali hit the back of the net within 2 minutes. This set the girls up and really channeled the way they played, within the first quarter the Belles were 3 goals up.

After this the opposition found their feet and began to challenge the Belles but we were defensively solid and Holly had another great performance in goal, coming off her line, dominating her box and making some impressive saves.

In the second half the opposition pressed the Belles quickly which took them by surprise meaning the Belles were slow to react and the opposition managed to secure a goal. A short while later there was a bit of ping pong in the box resulting in another goal for the opposition. The Belles shook this off and went again, some great passing through the channels made the Belles dangerous for the opposition and Adi managed to hit it home for another goal for the Belles giving us some goal difference breathing space.

Another great performance by the Belles which saw them face some nerves, shake them off, have a fantastic game and secure another win. Well done Belles 💙🖤

The Belles played away yesterday and unfortunately it was their first defeat of the season.

The opposition were strong and took the lead early on. The girls began to battle after this first goal with Adi having a solid performance, making some cracking tackles, runs and lovely passes. Holly dominated her box and made some unbelievable saves and in the second half Cali made a fantastic run down the left wing and took a tricky angled shot, which flew past 2 of the opposition defenders and the keeper, making the score line even.
A long ball made by the opposition defender saw the ball fly across the pitch, bounce over our defenders and their striker take a shot which made them take the lead again. This didn’t knock the Belles though and they continued to battle and play well, Sophia made a beautiful run down the right wing and crossed into the box incredibly however the opposition keeper was able to pick this up with their quick reaction.

A moment of confusion came for everyone as the referee blew his whistle causing the Belles to stop play, however the opposition continued and scored which strangely the referee allowed.

Overall, it was another great performance for the Belles and they should be proud of themselves as they continue to grow and improve as individuals and as a team. Well done Belles 💙🖤
