This race is tailored for first-time off-road riders, offering a welcoming, upbeat introduction to cyclocross—short, exciting, and packed with action. Races of this kind typically last around 30 minutes for beginners, giving you just enough time to find your rhythm without feeling overwhelmed.
You’ll ride on a marked course—think grass, dirt, maybe some tarmac—filled with gentle obstacles and a few technical turns.
The Central Cyclocross League encourages beginners to jump right in, and the Novice category is specifically for riders aged 18+ who are new to cyclocross—no club affiliation required.
Plus, there’s a short course practice window before the race, giving you time to preview the route and gather confidence.
