I am a Personal Trainer aiming to help develop YOU and YOUR fitness. I am an enthusiastic trainer, wanting to pass on my love and passion for fitness.

Before you rush into anything too drastic, here are a few tips for you to start off with to set yourself up for success.

After hearing the tragic news of I’ve found myself thinking a lot during my training.

I knew Ben from when we were both competing for Bucks in the Combined Events at English schools, and what a competitor he was. He was a fighter then and he continues to be one now!

This past week I have thought about Ben and his family, every single session. It’s also caused me to think about my “Why’s”.

Now you may think “how is that relevant” well, if you have followed Ben you would of see he works incredibly hard at what he does but he always has and will continue to do it with a smile on his face, enjoying every moment, pushing people to be better versions of themselves.

As this post says Exercise is a privilege, I have found myself being really mindful of what I’m doing, why I’m doing it. Ive been enjoying my training more than ever with these thoughts and it allowed me to push myself even more. “Enjoying the Suck” as some say.

I even found myself smiling during the Rogue echo bike efforts I was doing on Saturday morning, enjoying the session and being present in the session.

Life is too short to not enjoy what you are doing so do what you enjoy!!! Be mindful that you can do it, you have the time, money, and ability.

Exercise is a privilege, enjoy every second, and make them all count.

My good friend put this up as a rule in his first gym and it goes along way for all things.
 
This however is aimed at you as a “supportive” friend or your “supportive” friend.
 
We have all made some questionable decisions in life or seen our friends do things we might not think is the right thing, either ever or at that time.
 
Now think back and how many times have you called them out on it and they actually listened or if someone has called you out and you listened at the time?
 
Im going to take a shot in the dark and guess hardly ever.
 
What I will say though is if it’s gone well nothing has been said about it but if it’s gone wrong you don’t need a “I told you so” straight away at least, what you or they have needed is support.
 
Trying to make someone feel bad because it’s not YOUR beliefs is a pretty D*CK move. We are all individual
 
Instead of judging straight away and telling them what is what, on what is probably very little knowledge of the subject, why not ask a few questions about it. Why not try to understand it from their point of view. Why not let people (in your mind) make some small mistakes and see the outcome, and then talk supportively about it.
 
You may learn a few things along the way to broaden your narrow horizon.

I did not except this message but it fills me with so much joy!

Obviously it boost my ego and makes my head even bigger.

However, it’s the education bit that really makes me proud of this girl. She has taken her time to ask questions and learn when she is ready, but she has absolutely crushed it lately, and as it says,she now feels comfortable in a bikini!!!

We have chatted about things and how we progress, but this was her short term goal and its been achieved and some! we were aware harder work is round the corner but for now enjoy your cocktails and your hard work!!!

This client has worked with me for some time now (on and off).

This time things were different, she was actually ready for the hard work.

She has always said that weight loss was the goal, but with poor education before coming to me fad diets had always failed her, along with (IMO) poor coaching and guidance.

After some very in-depth chats we decided this time an aggressive fat loss approach was the way forward. (Ill do a post on this another day but it’s not for everyone, and need a LOT of prep and coaching through)

This was last Friday night as a work event and she looked amazing we have 2 more weeks to go and she will crush it (if she keeps up the hard work)

Understanding the goal and the process will always help.
