A special night on debut for #12 Charlie Russell.

The 17 year old forward not only made his first start for Thunder, but also took to the ice in his first ever senior game.

After recording two goals, the second a rocket from the top of the circles, and putting in a tremendous performance Charlie was nominated as Thunder’s player of the game.

Plenty more to come from this impressive young man this season - be sure to join us soon to see Charlie in action as he begins the next stage of his journey here in Milton Keynes.

NEXT UP | FINAL PRE-SEASON TEST AGAINST NIHL 1 BUCCS

No time to rest for Thunder after last night's victory in North Wales, as attention turns to next weekend's game away at Romford Buccaneers.

Thunder travel to the Sapphire to re-introduce themselves to the NIHL 1 South side, having last played them in the 2024/25 season. It will be a great final test for Thunder ahead of the regular season starting the following week as we host Chelmsford Warriors at home on Sunday 13th September.

Thunder are delighted to welcome Cass McCormack back to Milton Keynes for the 2026/27 season!

A product of the MK Storm junior system, Cass progressed into senior hockey with Thunder before gaining further experience in NIHL 2.

Now, the 21-year-old forward returns home to continue his development and add further depth, energy and local identity to our roster. Cass goes straight into the roster for this evening's pre-season game away at Deeside Dragons.

Another MK-developed player. Another return to Thunder. Another piece of our 25th Anniversary squad. 🩵

🚨 GAMEDAY | PRE-SEASON TEST IN NORTH WALES

After a long summer away, THUNDER ARE BACK.

Tonight we hit the road north west, as our 2026/27 journey begins with a first-ever meeting against Deeside Dragons 2 in pre-season at Deeside Leisure Centre.

The Dragons side reached the final of the NIHL 2 North playoffs last season, and like thunder, have a heavy focus on development of talented, young players.

Thunder fan's making the trip are able to purchase tickets via the link below, on the door. Tickets are priced: Adults £6, Age 6-17 £3, Family £14.

ROBINSON JOINS TELFORD ON 2 WAY AGREEMENT

Thunder can confirm that #14 Xander Robinson has joined Telford Tigers 2 (NIHL 1 North) on a 2-way agreement for the upcoming season, with Telford as his first option.

Whilst this leaves a big hole in the roster, everyone at the club is delighted for Xander and look forward to watching him take the next steps in his career at a club with a strong National League pathway!

We apologise for any confusion caused to Thunder fans by Telford’s announcement not mentioning the dual-registration and can reassure you all that Xander will still appear when both team’s schedules allow!
