Hanslope Endurance Ride

The 38km Novice class was won by Caroline Ingham, who ventured to her first GER beyond her local stomping ground of Tilford!

"After a couple of rides at Tilford back in 2019/20 I wasn't convinced Endurance was particularly suited to Pegasus, aka Squibby, my trusted trotter of 8 years. How glad am I now, that a friend convinced me to give it another go in March and proved me wrong. Hanslope is our third ride this year and the first GER we have ever done away from Tilford. I am so pleased with how Pegasus coped with travelling and being away from home and to win his class amidst all of these changes is truly amazing. Thanks goes out to Alice Ingram for her sound advice and to Charlotte Scott and her friend Danni for their assistance. Pegasus and I have both discovered a newfound love of endurance and are already preparing to return for the Concrete Cows ride in October!"

Caroline is taking up the rear here behind Charlotte, who finished 3rd in the same class.

In a competitive 31km Novice, the winner was Michelle Barker and her lovely pony Ozzy! It was the pairs first ever GER! They completed at 13kmph with a finishing HR of just 44!

"Absolutely thrilled to have won our first competitive ride. Ozzy has trained so hard for this and I can’t wait to continue running wild and free in the countryside with our favourite people"

Leo Davenport was our worthy winner of the 38km class: "That’s wonderful news and a complete surprise. Thank you so much. I’m rather proud of us two old veterans! It was a fantastic ride and I loved it. It’s a really enjoyable route to ride, the marking was perfect, and all the helpers were so friendly and smiley. You even ordered perfect riding weather. Thanks also to MKEC for their warm welcome for our overnight stay. All in all it was an absolutely great weekend and I’m still skipping about with a huge grin on my face. Thanks for doing all the hard work organising it. So much appreciated."

Congratulations to young rider, Tronari Baker, who despite being in the middle of his GCSEs took the win in a competitive 62km class!

"I'm very happy to have won my class! My horse Irshaad went very well and the ride was really good with lots of grass canters and hardly any roadwork. Thanks to all involved in organising it but particularly all the people who were holding open gates! Much appreciated"

Thank you to all those that supported our ride this year! It was great to see so many returning and new faces! Here are the PF results - congratulations all!

Congratulations to Helen Gipson who won the 31km class with SW Esaid, pictured here with his owner and trainer Anna Bridges who came 2nd in the same class with Crystal Wissam 👏

Helen said: “I had a wonderful day at Cromwell EGBs Hanslope Ride. The route had to give us all the best underfoot going of the year so far with plenty of grass. I was riding the very handsome SW Esaid, Cid to his friends, owned by Anna Bridges with whom I rode the course.

Cid was handled at the final vetting by Caroline Cherry and the vet gave a HR reading of 36 which has helped us win the PF for our class.

My smile is bigger today than yesterday at Hanslope!

Claire said: “Hanslope was my choice of venue to do my first ride over 65km. I chose to do the 81km with Cabeza (aka Brian).

We had a wonderful ride. Lots of long grass stretches on which to canter, lovely scenery and friendly and welcoming volunteers and stewards.
It has been my favourite ride so far this year!
We sailed through all the vettings and won the class. A bonus result to a great day out.
I’ll be back again next year.”

Beatrice said: “We had a lovely ride at Hanslope, the route was well highlighted with the right amount of technicality and nice lands for cantering. Indy is a strong mare and we have a very good team, so thanks to them!”

We like to offer a flexible timetable with vetting windows so there's no stress at vetting or starting at a set time! However, please note, all 82km & 81km riders MUST be on course before 08:45 in respect for our volunteers’ time.

All pleasure riders MUST be on course before 12:15.

Don’t forget you can start up to 30 minutes after your vet time. 😁
