A little message from Ellie:

As my final week comes to a close, I just wanted to say a big, personal thank you.

I have been trying to write something for a while and it's been quite tough to get the words out - you all know how much I love the dogs and what I do. I will miss both the dogs and their families more than I can say and this decision has been a very difficult one for me to make because of you all! I cannot thank you enough for not only trusting me to treat your best friends but to also keep returning for years, even after I have discharged them or you have moved away - I just can't get rid of some of you can I? 😉
It has truly been an honour to have you all in the centre with me and I have loved every minute of our sessions. I have loved getting to know you all and being your personal therapist as well as your dogs. I have made many life long friends and the love you have all shown me over the years will never be forgotten. I have been absolutely blown away by the chocolates, wine, flowers, gifts, cards, letters and even balloons. It has certainly been an emotional time. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, you have all been far too generous and the words have really touched me.

Please do contact me if you have any questions and, as always, I will be here to help where I can.

Again, thank you for all of the happy memories, new friends and so much fun, love and slobbery kisses along the way.

All the best,
Ellie. 🐾❤️

Sometimes the therapy is too fun to stop! 😍

Bert the patterdale started his journey with us back in 2023 to help strengthen his back end up due to noticing some muscle wastage and a slightly odd gait. He has regular Physiotherapy appointments alongside his hydro and, with the combined effort of both, he is now fitter than ever! We remember his first session well as he was not very confident in the water and certainly made a splash... but after one or two sessions he turned into an addict!!

He has been attending fortnightly fun/fitness sessions just to keep him in tip top shape and absolutely loves his swims. We believe it may be his favourite place and he tells us all about it if we take a second longer than he would like!

Today he had his last session with Ellie and had an absolute blast with the addition of extra cuddles during his rest periods! 🥰

The lovely Monty could not have a bigger smile on his face if he tried, he just loves his swims! 😁

He's a lucky boy because he can keep up with his swims whilst he has a stay over in the kennels as well as spending some time over in the day care with his brother too, this makes the stay so much fun! ✨️

Keeping the water clean, clear and healthy ready for your four legged friends is of utmost importance.

Here we are doing our morning water testing and cleaning before opening up for a fun day. 😁

The look of "if I sit here looking cute and behave really well they will let me back in"

Leo certainly loves his swim time! 😍

Freuds legacy.. ❤️🕊

Many of you will recognise this cheeky chap as he has been a regular with us for a couple of years now. But let me tell you a little bit about Freud. Freud lost his leg due to cancer two and a bit years ago now and started hydro for some strengthening. He took to having three legs like a champion and it really didn't stop his cheekiness!! He was a fantastic swimmer and would race up the ramp looking back at Ellie going "well hurry up, are we getting in our what?!". He loved his regular swims and he always felt fantastic after he had been! Freud thrived over these last two years but unfortunately took ill whilst away on holiday at the lake district and sadly passed away on boxing day. He truly was a huge character in a small body, he brought happiness to every room he entered and leaves behind a great hole in his family. He was loved more than we can say and was very much spoilt - too right!

His owners have very kindly donated an innopet all-terrain buggy which allowed Freud to still go out on adventures. He sat in it like royalty until he wanted to have a sniff. We know how difficult it can be having a dog with a brain more capable or younger than their body. So we would love to offer this buggy out at no charge to our clients who may struggle on their feet but would still like to keep up with the family. This is especially useful to those who may have multiple dogs or those who love longer walks with their dogs who may have now slowed down.

Please speak to a member of staff for further details and we will be happy to help. The weight limit is 25kg.

Thank you to Freuds family for their generosity as they also donated the much loved bundle of sqeaky toys!
We know how much this will mean to some. ❤️

Freud you we be missed by everyone who had the honour of meeting you here at Crossroads.
