WOW! what a wonderful and emotional day at Willards yesterday, can’t thank you all enough for coming and some of you travelled so far, thanks.
So many faces from the past so many stories and tales were told and not too many had to be censored lol 😂
The shop was pretty much full from open to close and I know I didn’t get to speak to you all so please accept my apologies. BUT, what a way to go, rammed with old friends telling tales to people who now may become new friends ,🤔 honestly we can’t thank you all enough for making Willards with us, without you lovely people Willards would never have been. We are gobsmacked to have so many well wishers with such kind words we obviously did something right in 32 years.
For you, you see this as the end of an era for us it’s a new beginning, we plan to travel both abroad and in England get out on the motorbike more and who knows even fish.🎣

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all who have worked for me over the years not forgetting Wayne McPherson who was there from the very start as my wing man in the early days.
Thanks to my two boys Jim and Tom for all their hard work and support when needed over the years they have been an absolute rock especially at fireworks.
A big thank you to Sean Wilson a work colleague of 10 years a mate and a confident, but… most of all, my wife who has stuck by me through and thin and always came up with the right answers,
Louise or Lou as you might know her has worked behind the scenes for all of 32 years arranging finances paying bills doing the accounting, employing staff and even selling maggots all while holding down another full time job, and, in the early days juggling two children because I wasn’t there I was behind the counter with you. Asked if we would do it again we’d jump at the chance if only we were 30 years younger, thanks for all your support and a really huge thanks for yesterday we love you all.

After over 30 years in the shop we have taken the decision to close the doors and spend some quality time doing the things you all love. More fishing, shooting, walking and travelling are the plan!
Thank you to all of you for your loyalty, particularly through the difficult trading times. Also thank you for your company, tales from the riverbank, shared experiences and also thank you for agreeing that the very best maggots come from Willard’s fridge!
We will close our doors on 30 April and between now and then we will be selling off our stock, much of it at bargain prices. It would be great to see as many of you as possible before we go, we wouldn’t have lasted as long as we have without your custom.
After that we will be available for a couple of months to offer support with any outstanding queries and you can reach us through our page or the website.
