Many congratulations to Sensei James Hall on being presented with his 6th Dan certificates last weekend. James lives and breathes Aikido on and off the mat and truly deserves to receive the recognition for all his efforts in running the Taidokan club and assisting many students on their Aikido journey.

Congratulations to Eugenio Da Costa who passed his Shodan grade with us in the Taidokan (this time last year) and received his certificate from Sensei Yates last week. His technique and spirit are amazing and so the grade, belt & certificate are so well deserved. Congratulations Eugenio!!!

Christmas 2025 training at the Milton Keynes Dojo. Many couldn't make training as Flu and covid seems to be making the rounds (again). To all those that couldn't make it we wish you good health! For those lucky enough to be healthy and in attendance we hope you enjoyed training. There was also Kyu and Dan gradings and presentations from previous gradings (Will post separately). Merry Christmas everyone!!!

It is being awake to this moment, this breath, this conversation… a simple pause in life to be aware and to experience ‘now’ can make the world of difference.

It was a different world back then. Fracture your wrist, no worries, put a cast on it and get back on the mat.

Saverne, France Yoshinkan event, back in the day. A round trip for me of 20+ hours, 1000+ miles there & back in an old car on my own…. Loved Aikido then and it remains an inseparable part of me today. I do wonder if this total unquestioning commitment is a reflection of a bygone age or just a nostalgic bias.
