A much delayed write up for the previous weekends 24 hour finale to the Simply Race Endurance Series.

A mixture of emotions is the way to best describe everything.
On the good side equalling our best ever result of 7th in the race and a best ever finish in the championship of 6th overall is a very proud moment and shows how far the team has come along in the time of its existence.

A massive thank you must go to Prismatic Motorsports. Partnering up with Jess, Jess (yes, that did get confusing!) and Hamish for this race was a blast and a fantastic experience to be alongside people so passionate and enthusiastic about what they do and can achieve.

24 hour races are never a walk in the park but this one in particular was an energy sapper with the challenging Spa-Francorchamps circuit playing host and the typical unpredictable Ardennes weather rearing its head during the night.
A decision to run Intermediate tyres on a drying track did not quite payoff and a late charge to catch 6th place being a little too much to achieve but this does not change what a proud achievement any of the event was.
A first ever experience of trying race commentary also ensued during the evening....with mixed results, training maybe required 😜

There was a downer moment, before and leading up to the race, we knew this was probably likely to be the teams last race. Still questioning that decision.

Another storming display from Fordzilla, CamSport and Ooh Barracuda in this race and the championship entirely!
Fully deserved 👏

Just over a week to go till the final race of Simply Race Endurance Series and our final race on the 25th/26th June.

Casual Apex stalwarts Phil Webb and Dan Hyde are to be joined for the 24 hour Spa-Francorchamps race by two special guests from our good friends at Prismatic Motorsports

Ladies and gents

Over the past few weeks I've had some tough decisions to make.

Things have been tough for me and I have been struggling recently and it's unlike me to broadcast that.
With that said I've found it very difficult to rekindle my excitement or interest in team management, hence recently my activity on here and social media in general has been lacking.

One of the very difficult decisions I have made is that I have every intention to campaign the upcoming Simply Race Endurance Series 24 hour of Spa on the 25th June.
But that after that I intend to cease Casual Apex as an entity.
I've had some amazing memories and times but as I said I've lost a lot of interest in the management side of things and feel as though I cannot commit the time or energy to running a team.
I want to step back to just driving for the fun of it.

There are a large number of reasons, far too many to put into a simple Facebook post why I have made this decision and its a decision I have not made lightly.

It seems rather appropriate to me that the idea for Casual Apex started at a 24 hour race so I think it poetic that it would end with a 24 hour race.

Thank you each and every one of you for making this endeavour a great experience, from podium finishes to gutting DNF's it's been an amazing experience that I wouldn't change.
And a thank you to all of the teams sponsors for being there and having faith.

*ANNOUNCEMENT*

There must be a blue moon this month!!

Team Principal Phil Webb will be competing in the third round of the Simply Race Endurance Series!

The 6 Hour of Road America is set for the 30th January.
Unfortunately our regular driver Jordan Hearn will be off gallivanting around the globe.

So, Phil has stepped up to take the wheel of our Cadillac DPi alongside Casual Apex stalwart Dan Hyde.

With the Simply Race Endurance Series 6 hour of Imola fast approaching (28th Nov) here is a sneak preview of the weapon being prepared for action!
Plenty of practice behind the scenes to see if we can equal or better our best ever finish at the 12 hours of Buddh!

Testing well underway for the 6 hours of Imola in November as part of the Simply Race Endurance Series

Cue headaches from too much math-a-matatics, screams from over shot braking points and jitters from way too many coffees!

Sadly very few pics to show...would like to say it was concentration related.

A P6 overall at the 12 hours of Buddh!
Surpassing the teams best ever finish by 2 and without doubt the most enjoyable race to date!
A clean race from the team with just a couple of spins, one drive through penalty for being a little exuberant with track limits and only minor cosmetic damage to contend with so only the ego being bruised.

Could not be happier with the result, Jordan, Dan and myself putting in a sterling effort!
We hope we did our sponsors proud.

It never gets any easier with the tiredness and concentration that endurance racing requires but, oddly that's part of the fun.

The Simply Race Endurance Series kicks off on Sunday for the much delayed 12 hour of Buddh race, the first round of the hideously overdue SRES season!

Dan, Jordan and myself will be battling it out with some top quality competition in the DPi Cadillac.

Ben has done another beautiful job with the livery for this series!
