Did you know that racket sports, like Table tennis, are strongly linked to increased life span? With studies suggesting they can add nearly 10 years to life expectancy.
Research shows activities, like table tennis, reduces mortality by up to 47%, outperforming popular exercises like cycling, swimming, and jogging, thanks to their unique blend of cardiovascular, cognitive, and social benefits. As a low-impact, high-intensity sport, it enhances longevity by improving cardiovascular health, increasing cognitive function, boosting agility, and offering intense, short-burst exercise with minimal joint strain.
Our Rallying together session is particularly suited for those with disabilities and long term health conditions such as dementia, Parkinson's disease and heart disease.

Do you know the fascinating history of table tennis? 🏓
Originally developed in the late 19th century as an indoor alternative to tennis, table tennis quickly evolved from a parlour game to a global sport. It became an Olympic discipline in 1988, and today it’s one of the world’s most played racket sports – valued for its accessibility and skill.
We're proud to continue the heritage of the beloved sport at Wolverton and Greenley’s Table Tennis Hub with our sessions that are for all ages and abilities. 🏓

Beat winter blues and get moving with table tennis at Greenleys Community Centre! ❄️ It’s the first week back of Wolverton and Greenleys Table Tennis Hub for 2026!🏓
Led by top coaches Stephen Baggaley (personal coach of MK Olympian Andrew Baggaley) and Esther Carter (former County Champion), it’s perfect for mental wellbeing in the cold months.
Staying active when days are short makes a big difference to your mental health – table tennis boosts focus, combats loneliness, and lifts mood with gentle movement. It also supports cognitive function and hand-eye coordination for those with conditions like Dementia.
