Gates, ranges, shifting...
Tonight's class explored how to defend attacks coming from inside & outside of your guard, while ensuring you are in the best range to strike effectively in return ππ»π₯
Understanding the purpose behind Wing Chun's principles, movements, and footwork is essential for every student. It allows techniques to be applied fluently rather than simply memorised.

πThe Concept of One-Handed Defence in Wing Chun π
Wing Chun teaches efficiency through economy of motion, even defending multiple attacks.
Inside Pak Sau can be used to create an opening, Tan Sau disperses the secondary attack and leaves the opponentβs centreline open, allowing the practitioner to launch a chop to the neck as an immediate counterstrikeβ¦ All with one hand! ππ₯

High energy class covering basic street-fighting techniques this evening ππ₯
The difference between drilling and fighting is very important.
Wing Chun does not want to have a stand-up blow for blow battle; It finishes the fight fast with relentless offense that leaves no room to respond.
Drilling with a training partner gives you the confidence and reflexes to apply your learning in more realistic scenarios. We train in a controlled environment so that students can appreciate the effectiveness of the techniques, while practicing vital skills.
