⚽️Ayrshire Cup Weekend⚽️

The weather was horrendous but The Shant dug deep, got the job done and booked their place in the next round!

Not pretty conditions for football, but a win is a win!

⚽️West of Scotland Weekend⚽️

Firstly would like to wish our Vice Captain Sean a speedy recovery after he was taken hospital during today’s game with an ankle injury.

First half was all Remo FC, but once again a mistake of our own led to a goal. It took us until just before half-time to really get going and start playing our football.

Second half was a much better performance. We got the ball down, moved it about and started playing some good football. We kept pushing for an equaliser but credit to Remo FC, who defended well and made it difficult for us to break them down.

We eventually got our reward with a penalty, which we converted. From there we looked to push on and find a winner. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t to be.

The game went to penalties which is never a nice way to go out of a cup, but we were beaten 3-1 in the shootout.

Disappointed to go out, but plenty to take from the second-half performance. We dust ourselves down and go again

Game Finishes 1-1 (3-1 pens)

⚽️Scottish Cup Weekend⚽️

It wasn’t to be for Minishant today as we were beaten by a very good Dunblane side in a competitive cup tie.

The Shant started the brighter of the two teams, but a defensive error allowed Dunblane to take the lead. We responded quickly, getting ourselves back on level terms. Unfortunately, another defensive mistake saw the home side go into the break 2-1 ahead.

The Shant came out strongly again in the second half and deservedly got back on level terms with a fantastic finish from Sam. Dunblane responded almost instantly, scoring two quick-fire goals to make it 4-2.

To the lads credit, they never gave up and continued to battle, with our efforts rewarded when we pulled a third goal back. In the closing stages, it looked like we had found the equaliser, only for the Dunblane keeper to produce a fantastic save.

Dunblane then caught us on the break late on and finished off the tie, running out deserved winners.

Game Finishes 5-3
