Clean Technique
One of the most challenging parts of AcroDance is developing clean technique.
Great technique goes beyond simply landing a skill - it includes lines, alignment, body positioning, pointed feet, controlled finishes, and so much more.
The best place to build strong technique habits is during class practice. Every time our dancers go down the mat, we encourage them to focus on one specific technical detail like stretched feet, hand placement, finishing the skill with correct technique and control.
We consistently encourage practicing these small details, so that our dancers begin to develop muscle memory.
Over time, these technical elements become second nature - not only in class, but also on the stage and competition floor.
Spotting Side Aerial
We teach safe progressions for Side Aerial from our Syllabus.
Practiced first with Level 5 One hand (far arm) Cartwheel before attempting to spot our dancers Side Aerial.
Certified Teachers have excellent timing and placement spotting this skill. The dancer should have a very high Level 6 Flying Cartwheel before attempting this skill.

Today we say goodbye to our Assistant Teacher Amy after nearly 6 years!
Amy started with us as a pupil in 2020 at age 11. During lockdown she was super helpful on zoom demonstrating in her garden body conditioning exercises for our Acro Workbook.
She started Assisting with us at age 14 passing her Assistant certification with 100% pass rate.
In 2023 she attended First Aid at Work with training, gaining support certification.
At age 15 she gained Assistant Teacher Certification again with 100% pass rate.
And more recently has passed Progressions for Side Aerials.
It has been our absolute pleasure to Mentor and Sponser Amy’s Assistant Dance Teacher training. We are so proud of all she has achieved with us at ACRO SQUAD.
You’ve been fantastic Amy you should feel very proud of yourself. We wish you all the luck and happiness in the world. A sad day you’re leaving but a day to truly celebrate all your accomplishments at you can take with you on your next adventure.
