It’s been 8 weeks since my first competition. This is 90kg and the first attempt since my second competition where I failed 91kg 6 weeks ago.

I’ve been on a 6 week strength building program I set up for myself to see what can be done and today just shows it’s all firing in the right direction! Little motivation from felt fitting seeing as this weight has been so hard to reach after some health and minor injuries.

Today’s session I decided to slap on some old WWE entrance music to get me into the motivation I needed! I had Stone Cold’s for the set before!

Took 3rd in a Marine comp for how many squats you can do in 1 minute with a 30kg back pack… Took 52 reps and didn’t realise I still had time left 🙈 wanted another go but I’ve pulled my back out 😂 typical!

Got to see the great and 💪 had some fun and got some supps at the Arnold Show. I got to meet as well, an ideal I would watch in his strongman days!

We watched some strongman, CrossFit, kickboxing and powerlifting

165kg total weighing at 76.6kg in the79kg weighted category. I I originally thought I came 6th place but I’ve just checked again and I came 3rd place! 🥉 😳💪 what an achievement! 🥳

Such an amazing feeling competing in a competition knowing my little boy was there cheering me on! He did exceptionally well waiting for many hours with mummy to see daddy on the platform!

I’m nearly back to full strength and today proved I had more in the bag, walking away on a high knowing I could have lifted more which is what I planned. A well executed plan to keep my head on the right track, first comp didn’t need to be PB territory, it needed to cement in belief I can get up there and have fun without failing any lifts.

Only one lift I failed due to a subtle failed lockout in the jerk… but I knew it was just nerves and said I will lift heavier on my next lift… and I did just that! 😁😅❤️

Such a great feeling to be competing again! It’s been too long out of the game. Now I can say I’ve done

Bodybuilding, strongman, powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting. Not many can say that, all this knowledge gets passed down to my clients 😁

Mobility test

Can you keep contact on the wall with toes, knees and forearms whilst performing a squat? This drill has helped my Olympic lifting a lot. Have a try and see how low you can get, you should be able to hit 90 degrees or lower.
