Medal Course

The Medal was elected by the Royal and Ancient GC of St. Andrews as a final qualifying course for the 2007 Open Championship. Length: 6655 yards
Par: 71
SSS: 72

This course has recently undergone a 3 year recovery programme under the head greenkeeper Scott Rennie and is in excellent condition with well grassed narrow running fairways, lush semi-rough, penal heavy rough and fast consistent greens not to mention the deep rivetted bunkers to test any standard of golfer. Ashludie Course

Length: 5123 yards
Par: 68 (69F)
SSS: 65 (68F)

A compact and challenging test of golf, the Ashludie course designed by James Braid requires more brain than brawn, demanding accurate iron shots to the well respected greens. At just over 5000 yards in length this course offers any golfer immense enjoyment played on its own or as a second round in a days outing.

Congratulations to Mia and Rory!

We’re delighted to celebrate Mia and Rory, who both qualified for the final of the Road to the Home of Golf! They had the fantastic opportunity to take on junior golfers from across Scotland at the iconic St Andrews.

Both represented Monifieth brilliantly, with some fantastic performances!

🏌️ Rory competed in the C**t Cup, finishing 14th overall with 36 points.

🏌️‍♀️ Mia competed in the Young Tom Trophy, finishing 22nd overall with 34 points.

A huge well done to both of you on this brilliant achievement. We’re proud to see our juniors representing Monifieth on such a prestigious stage! 💙

400 Years of Golf on the Scottish Sands

Golf has been played across the coastal terrain of Monifieth since at least 1645. Over nearly four centuries, the natural contours of the land, sandy subsoil, and native gorse have shaped two distinct 18-hole championship layouts: the formidable Medal Course and the strategic Ashludie Course.

Designed by nature and refined by generations of Scottish greenkeeping, Monifieth offers year-round, firm-and-fast links conditions in their purest form.

There’s something uniquely Scottish about standing over a shot as a train rattles along the edge of the fairways. 🚆⛳️

At Monifieth, the railway line runs right alongside the links, echoing the golden era when golfers traveled by rail to the coast. Whether you're playing the Medal Course or shaping shots on the Ashludie, the passing trains add a timeless rhythm and character to a round on the Angus coast.

🏆 Our Monifieth Links Champions! 🏆

A huge well done to all of our finalists who battled it out in the VERY strong winds on Saturday.

There was a fantastic display of talent, determination and character from everyone involved, making for some brilliant matches and a great weekend of golf.

The 10th Hole at Monifieth offers a challenging start to the Medal Course's back 9.

"The Rashies" is a par 4 offering one of the most demanding drives with water to the left and heather mounds to the right. If you manage to clear the hole's diificult opening a bunker gathering on the right of the green awaits.

Will you be hitting driver off the tee or playing it safe?

With the Solheim Cup taking center stage this week, we’re proud to celebrate one of Monifieth’s very own, Kathryn Imrie! ️

Kathryn learned to play right here on the Ashludie Course starting at age 10 alongside her family, building the foundation for an extraordinary career: LPGA Tour winner, Curtis Cup player, 1996 Solheim Cup player, and Vice-Captain during Europe’s historic victories at Gleneagles and Inverness.

A true inspiration to every junior teeing it up on our links today! 🏆

Thank you to the whole team for everything you do for our members and visitors. If you see the team out on the fairways today, be sure to tip your cap! 👏
