Match report 📝
DUSC 1-1 Monifieth
With both sides starting the season strongly, a tight, competitive contest was always on the cards — and that’s exactly how it played out. The game was scrappy from first whistle to last, with neither team able to carve out clear chances or take real control of the tempo.
Monifieth will feel frustrated with the goal they conceded in the first half — a soft one that didn’t reflect the defensive standards they’ve set recently. But even on a day where the team were miles off their best, the effort never dropped.
The pattern continued in the 2nd half: scrappy, bitty, and lacking quality, but Monifieth kept pushing for a moment to get back on level terms.
That persistence paid off with the last kick of the game, when James Maxwell popped up to bundle home the equaliser. A proper never‑say‑die moment.
Thanks to DUSC 2013 for the game — we look forward to the next time the two teams meet.
For Monifieth - next weekend brings Scottish Cup 2nd Round action at Riverview, with Lochore Castle Colts 13s making the trip up to Monifieth.
The team have had two very tough away fixtures to start the league campaign and the unbeaten run on all fronts continues 👏
