Destination Mountain Bike Store at the Forest of Dean Cycle Centre

03/06/2026

Dirt, roots, rocks and questionable line choices… just the way we like it. 🤘

It’s World Bicycle Day, and while some people think of bikes as a way to get from A to B, we know they’re really for finding the best trails, riding with mates, and coming home covered in mud with a grin you can’t wipe off.

At Pedal Syndicate, we’re proud to be part of the MTB community. Whether you’re sending it down technical descents, exploring new trails, or just getting started on your MTB journey, today is a day to celebrate life on two wheels.

So tell us, what’s the best thing mountain biking has given you? A favourite trail, lifelong friends, epic memories, or maybe just an excuse to buy another bike? 👇🔥

Most bike demos go something like this...

👉 Sit on the bike in a car park.
👉 Ride up and down a bit.
👉 Try to imagine what it might feel like on a trail.

We do things differently.

When you demo a with us, we'll set the bike up specifically for you (because riders aren't one-size-fits-all), then send you straight out onto the Forest of Dean trails to ride it properly.

No car parks.
No guesswork.
No shortcuts.

Just real trails, real riding, and a real chance to see what the bike can do.

✅ Buy the bike and we'll take the demo fee off the purchase price.
✅ Decide it's not for you? You've still had an awesome day riding one of the most talked-about bikes on some of the best trails in the UK.

Sounds like a win-win to us.

We have the Amflow PX Carbon in a Medium and Large, ready to go! Plus demo bikes from Santa Cruz, Norco, Pivot and Whyte.

Can’t wait for the first this week 👊

This makes us very sad.

Saddleback have been one of our key suppliers from the day we opened, and one of Pedalabikeaway for over 10 years.

To see this distributor collapse, with the loss of 42 jobs, gives us very heavy hearts.
We massively feel for our friends in the business, from owner Andy, Oli the MTB brand manager, to Anthony our rep and all the other staff effected.

They were best known in the MTB world for Troy Lee Designs Clothing, amongest many other brands, and just continues to show how tough it is out there in the bike industry after seeing many other bike shops, distributors like moore and large, and bike brands like Frog, go to the wall in recent years.

Avinox v Bosch range test 30/05/2026

We wanted to know which motor was more efficient.
The new Avinox M2S or the Bosch gen 5 CX.
So we did a little test.
1 hour loop around the cycle centre.
10.6 miles and 721metres of climbing per loop.
Two Pivot Bikes.
One Bosch
One Avinox
Both bikes set to 750wh and 120Nm.
Back to back on the same day with the same tyres.
Which one came out on top?

Another new bike?! Yep… we know. We’re spoiling you at this point 😅

But can you blame us when bikes like THIS keep turning up?!

Say hello to the new Norco Fluid FS A1. Possibly one of the nicest colour schemes we’ve seen in a long time. Seriously… it’s almost too pretty to get muddy. Almost....

This award-winning trail machine comes with 140/130 travel and enough trail capability to make you feel confident riding anything.

And it’s not just us getting excited about it…

🏆 Bicycling Magazine Best Value Trail Bike

Basically, the bike world is having a bit of a love affair with this bike.

We currently have a few Medium, Large & XL in stock, but honestly… photos don’t do it justice. Pop into the shop, have a look in person, and try not to fall in love immediately! (We take no responsibility for spontaneous bike purchases.)

New bike alert…and NO motor this time! You asked for more variety, so here it is 👇

Meet the Whyte Sythe RS - a bike built for riders who think “maybe slow down?” is terrible advice 🤘

This thing is made to charge. Steep chutes, rough trails, blown-out berms, bike park chaos… the Sythe RS just asks for more.

Why does it ride so well?
⚡ 170mm front / 160mm rear suspension that absolutely eats rough terrain
⚡ Progressive geometry that stays stable when things get fast and wild
⚡ Mullet wheel setup for playful handling and monster grip
⚡ Tough alloy frame ready for year-round abuse
⚡ Big brakes, big travel, big confidence

And yes, even without a motor, it still climbs well enough to earn every descent 👊

Some bikes just look fast standing still...

The Pivot Shuttle AMP’d is one of those bikes that makes people stop mid-scroll… and then stop again in the car park for a closer look.

Why do we love it?
Because it somehow manages to look sleek and aggressive at the same time - no bulky “e-bike feel”, just clean lines, premium carbon, and serious trail intentions.

Then you ride it… and it all makes sense 🤘
⚡ Ridiculously powerful uphill
⚡ Plush, planted and playful downhill
⚡ Feels more like a proper MTB than a full-power e-bike has any right to

The staff have been absolutely obsessed with this thing since it landed. And the best bit? We’ve got ONE in stock right now 👇
Size Medium
Ready to ride

Little trip into Wales this week for some sick tracks 👊

Workshop Weekly Update... Martin has spoken (again)!

This week’s wisdom is simple: "hydration is key for you AND your bike."

(No, we’re not suggesting you pour a sports drink onto your bike!)

"First up: oil your chain!"

"Second: brake bleeds are the main event right now. If your brake fluid has turned black, you are long overdue."

"And remember: the more you ride, the more maintenance your bike needs."

📅 Booking update:
We’re now booking major services past the 25th June. Smaller jobs? We might be able to sneak you in...

🚨 Weekend emergency repairs are still on!
That’s for the true disasters only, think snapped spokes, worn-out brake pads, punctures… basically anything that makes your bike say “nope.”
(Not brake bleeds though, those need proper booking time!)

Final word from Martin:
“If your brakes need a bleed for the weekend, book it the week before. Don’t try it on the day.”
