Jareta Spanish Horses

Jareta Castizo otherwise known as Sid. Magistrado IV out of Jareta Reinera. Since I have stopped breeding and the yard is now managed by Paul as a livery, I will have to have Sid castrated. It will be safer for the livery owners and ultimately Sid will be happier not having to watch over an ever changing "herd". Six years without breeding a male, Sid was six years too late!! He is a lovely boy though, taking after his sire.

Today, with a great sense of loss, we said goodbye to Magistrado IV. A true gentleman of a horse. He joined us in February 2014 from the Maipe Stud, and left us today at the age of 23. He leaves a very big hole in our lives. His son Jareta Castizo continues his legacy here with us.

Thought we were about to lose one of my favourite girls, Cadencia II, bred by Yeguada Iberica. She is 21 years old and had started lying down a lot and looking very short striding and wobbly behind. Time to call the vet. But an inner voice whispered, call the chiropractor. One session with Emma Padfield and she was back to her old self. Picture Cadencia with Jackie Herbert in our indoor school.

That's the next one getting out and about. Adelante coming back from her first hack out. Nothing fazed her.

Jareta Castizo. Reserve Champion C**t. I was a bit disappointed with his scores, but once I understood where he lost the points it all made sense. There will be a lot of practice for any future shows in standing still, walking (as he can) and keeping his 5th leg away in its box! Still, it was his first outing and he was a distracted by it all. That can only get better. Hope he keeps his weight on next time too! Shown courageously by Paul Bettens and handled by Paul Walter.
