✨What a fab August! ✨
It’s been such a busy month, filled with lots of events and experiences - from the Clan Grant Gathering and Trail West Fest, to dancing at the World Highland Dancing Championships at the Cowal Highland Gathering, performing at Rottal Steading and welcoming our dancers back to class and meeting all of our lovely new students! ✨💕
✨🏴 Last week, Bethan had the incredible opportunity to compete at the World Highland Dancing Championships in Dunoon. It was such a special experience to dance alongside some of the very best dancers from around the world and be part of the incredible atmosphere that makes this Championship so unforgettable! 😍 Bethan gave it her all, danced her heart out and thoroughly enjoyed every moment! We couldn’t be prouder of her and all the hard work she has put in to reach this stage! Well done Bethan!! ✨🏴
✨🧑🩰Last Saturday, a group of our dancers performed at Rottal Steading Food & Drink Festival. What a great afternoon! well done to all the dancers who took part - you were brilliant! 👏🏻 And a big thank you to all the parents for bringing the dancers along and supporting them. Thank you Rottal Events & Accommodation for inviting us! 🧑🩰✨
✨💙🎶 I also had a fantastic time at the Clan Grant Gathering and Trail West Fest, making lots of special memories along the way, it was nice to let the hair down before getting back to classes and a busy Term 1! 😂 It’s been a brilliant August. Our dancers have had a fantastic July competing at Highland Games and shows all over Scotland, including Musselburgh, Perth, Inverness, Banchory, St Andrews, Kirriemuir and Fettercairn - making lovely memories and bringing home lots of fab prizes! 💕 🏆
A huge well done to our dancers! I’m so proud of you all! It’s been lovely seeing all the photos, hearing about your days and most importantly, seeing you supporting one another, having fun and enjoying highland dancing! I also enjoyed a lovely day at Mull Highland Games with my wee boy - we didn’t have any dancers competing in Mull, but it was a beautiful day out, soaking up the atmosphere, topped off with a ceilidh in Oban in the evening! 💃🥰
Summer has flown by and I’m now looking forward to welcoming everyone back to class on 20th August! An email with all the Term 1 information will be sent out tomorrow morning. 📧⭐️

✨ June has flown by it's been a busy month here at the dance school! ✨
✨🎉 15th ANNIVERSARY SHOW 🎉✨
Our anniversary celebrations began with two shows at Montrose Town Hall. Our dancers were absolutely fantastic! I honestly couldn’t be prouder of each and every one of them. A huge thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate with us and support the show. Watching our dancers take to the stage with big smiles, confidence and a love for highland dancing is what it’s all about. A very special thank you once again to all the dancers and thank you to our helpers who worked behind the scenes. Your time, effort and support helped make the show such a success - we couldn’t have done it without you!

The celebrations continued last week with our Summer Discos, we had lots of fun, food, dancing and a chance to watch back some special moments from our anniversary show!

32 of our dancers performed at the St Cyrus Galas 20th Anniversary! A huge well done to everyone who took part - you were all amazing! A special thank you to St Cyrus Gala for inviting us along and giving our dancers the opportunity to perform. We had a wonderful time!

What a busy month May has been!
We’ve had dancers out competing at Pitlochry, Monikie, and Newport, bringing home fantastic and well-deserved prizes! A huge well done to all the girls - we’re so proud of you!! 🏆👏
We also had an unforgettable day taking part in the Edinburgh Tartan Parade. Being able to share our passion for Highland dancing and our Highland spirit with so many people was a truly special experience.🏴💜
Last Saturday was another busy day, with 57 dancers out performing! We had groups performing at Party in the Park in Gourdon and MoFest at Salty’s. Thank you to Party in the Park and Salty’s for inviting us - we all had a fantastic time! 🥳💃
A huge well done to all our dancers. You were all brilliant, and thank you for representing NMG so well! A big thank you to all our parents for their continued support and for bringing the dancers along to these events. 💕👏

What an unforgettable day we had at the Edinburgh Tartan Parade! It was such a great experience for everyone involved!! Seeing the streets filled with tartan and hearing the sound of bagpipes all around us made it such a special celebration of Scottish culture and heritage. It was wonderful to see so many people coming together! We absolutely loved being part of such a fantastic event and meeting so many lovely people throughout the day.
A massive well done to our 27 beautiful dancers who took part. You danced through the streets with passion and pride and represented the school so beautifully!! Watching you all perform was such a proud moment!
A huge thank you to all the parents for bringing the dancers along, and for helping everything run smoothly! Your support means so much and is always greatly appreciated! We would also like to give a very special thank you to our piper Ewen, for joining us and playing brilliantly throughout the parade. Your piping added so much to the atmosphere and made the experience even more memorable for everyone, we are so grateful for your support!
Well done again to everyone involved - it was such a fantastic day, and one we will always remember! 🏴🥰

🏴✨ We’ve had a very busy April! Our dancers performed at the Declaration Day event in Arbroath and delivered a fantastic performance - Well done to everyone involved, and a big thank you to “Friends of Arbroath Abbey” for inviting us to take part in this special event marking the 706th anniversary of the Declaration of Arbroath, a massive thank you to all the parents for your support in bringing the dancers along. 🏴✨
☘️✨We also had five dancers proudly representing Scotland at the International Pan Celtic Festival in Carlow, Ireland. It was an incredible week, with our dancers bringing home four first-place awards and two second-place awards - an outstanding achievement! ☘️✨
🥰🌹We also put on a lovely performance at the MoHub in Montrose for a group living with dementia. It was so special to see everyone enjoying the dancing and music. Thank you to the lovely Michelle Swanston for inviting us along. We are looking forward to our next visit. 🥰🌹
💜✨Our competition dancers have also been busy competing and bringing home even more great prizes! Over the last two weekends we’ve had dancers competing in Dunfermline, Corby and Aberdeen! Thank you to all the dancers and parents for supporting these competitions, and for the hard work, dedication, and commitment you continue to show! 💜✨

🏴☘️PAN CELTIC 2026 ☘️🏴
Our week at the Pan Celtic International Festival in Carlow was nothing short of incredible! Every year, this vibrant celebration of Celtic culture somehow manages to top the last!! From start to finish, it was filled with dancing, music, singing, laughter, learning, new friendships and of course, the occasional wee dram! The passion and hard work that go into making this festival so special never go unnoticed, and it’s something we’re all so grateful to be part of! 💜☘️
I’m so proud of our team of 5 dancers who attended this year, alongside their mums & (dad), they truly had the most unforgettable time! Some standout moments included performing at the opening ceremony with the Irish President in attendance! Also appearing live on a breakfast TV show, dancing with the fantastic ceilidh band at the Irishman’s, and hosting our own Highland dancing workshop at Dinn Rí. We also took part in ceilidhs, street busking, and proudly marched through Carlow in the Celtic Nations parade - rain and all!! 😂☔️
Representing Scotland in the Inter-Celtic dance competitions was another huge highlight. We were absolutely delighted to come away with three first places and two seconds! On top of that, the girls shone in the junior busking competition, bringing home another well-deserved first place! 🏆👏

🏆✨Five of our competition dancers gave brilliant performances at the Kingdom of Fife, Newtonhill, and Tayfirth competitions and achieved excellent results! Well done to Aoife, Chloe, Iona, Abbey, Bethan, and Kirsten on their hard work and success!! ✨🏆
🏴✨We’re delighted to have a group of dancers performing at the Declaration Day event on Monday in Arbroath. They’re all very excited and i look forward to seeing everyone there! ✨🏴
☘️✨ On Tuesday, I will be traveling to the Pan Celtic Festival in Carlow with five of our dancers and their parents. The girls will proudly represent Scotland in the Inter-Celtic Dance Competitions. We will also be hosting a Highland dance workshop, participating in the festival parade, taking part in the busking competition, and performing at various events throughout the week. We wish our dancers the very best of luck!! ✨☘️

Thank you to all the dancers who joined us for our “Fling into Spring” dance workshop last Saturday at Marykirk Hall! We had a fun filled day learning new steps and refining technique, the dancers also took part in a mini Highland Games and a colouring Competition. The energy and sportsmanship was brilliant! - well done everyone and thank you again for joining us!! 👏
Also a big congratulations to our competition dancers for representing the school at Monikie and the Valley of Strathmore competitions! They enjoyed a great day of dancing and came away with lots of lovely prizes! 👏
I also want to give a huge shoutout to Meadow for securing second place in Lochside's Got Talent! She performed a lovely wee dance to Loch Maree Island! Great job Meadow! 👏
