Senior/ U18 National Championships

Another weekend of impressive performances at nationals, glad to see an increasing number of athletes representing montrose! Well done to Cameron, Matthew, Susie and Emma who all proceeded to the finals in their events

Special mention to coach Emma who alongside officiating at the event also PBd in the Discus and the Hammer. Breaking the almost decade old record despite not training in this discipline. She is also close to breaking the 1980s throws record.

A busy weekend for both Cameron and Matthew who balanced multiple events over the weekend. Matthew proceeded to gain PBs and strong performances across three track events, while Cameron competed in the high jump and javelin at the same time. Well done both!

Last but certainly not least Susie continues to improve her PB in a competitive 400m Hurdles final after only recently switching to this event, she no doubt will continue to beat her performances.

U14/16/20 National T&F Championships 🏆

Looking back on last weekend's championships well done to both Eva and Harriet for their unshakable performances and PBs in every event

Eva has broken the club record for the 800m and remains only seconds away from the senior women's record, a great achivement! She thought in a tough heat and left it all on the track

Meanwhile Harriet competed on the field at her first national level competition, with double PBs and fantastic series of throws! We cant wait to see her continue to improve next year

The 2026 MDAC Club Championships is here, but this year with a new, exciting format that combines a club social with a day full of multi-events to determine this year's club championships. For members only.

AAAC Summer OGM

Another windy competition to add before the season ends, well done to Cameron S, Cameron H, Aine and Emma for their performances!

Special mention to Cameron for his first competition representing the club in the sprints and endurance events with energy to spare. Another mention to Emma for a lifetime best performance in the Discus beating the previous pre-covid distance and approaching another club record this year.

RAM League

A whopping turn out for last weekend's RAM League competition with several PBs, first time competitors and club records almost broken. Fantastic representation across the events from Susie, Lauren, Nyla, Lewis, Tilly, Aine, Harriet, Isla, Jack, Alfie, Merrin, Orrin and Emma.

So many highlights to mention with special recognition to Lewis, Merrin, Tilly, Isla and Harriet for stepping up to earn club points. Despite being their first competitions we had several placing finishes with Tilly's shotputt, Lewis' sprint and Harriet's Javelin taking top points.

Back on the track we had our first mixed relay race for our under 12 girls and boys, even beating non-mixed teams. Including Nyla who even knocked a whopping 10 seconds off her 800m PB. Also special mention to Emma for being 10cm off breaking another club record.

Looking forwards to the final for our U12 Boys (the reigning champs) with the potential of more MDAC age groups joining them. Stay tuned!

Scottish National Athletics League

The SNAL has been a incredible addition to our club competitions this year, it has been a great opportunity for our senior athletes to gain more competitive experiences.

Well done to Susie, Grace and Emma for battling the rainy conditions across sprints, jumps and throws. Special mention to Grace (our new assistant coach) for returning to competing this year and working hard on her shot-putt glide. Another mention to Susie for her 400m races this year, working hard on her endurance and pacing to constantly ourperform herself this year

Scottish Schools - Grangemouth 🥈

In a very busy month we have also had fantastic performances at Scottish Schools from Eva, Susie and Matthew. Representing across both track and field with PBs all round and a silver medal for Matthew in the 400m Hurdles!

In a very tough heat Eva stormed through her race and kept the pace in her 800m. A brilliant PB well earned and brilliant to see her training hard at our clubs new running group.

Susie also scored a fantastic PB in tne Long Jump flying over the four metre mark and competing in the 400m very close to her PB mark! In a group of 20+ athletes this is great to see.

Last but certainly not least we have Matthew who competed over the 100m, 110m Hurdles and 400m Hurdles with a well earned silver medal. A PB in the sprint hurdles improving well with the new age group specifications and medal performances in a event that is new to him. Cannot wait to see more PBs by the end of this season

Academy Sports Day 🏆

Exciting news across the local schools with some impressive performances from our athleties. Podium finishes all round including Cushla and Cameron as overall champions!

Incredible mention to Cameron who has shattered the existing school Javelin record by 8+ metres with a performance of 40.43m. Outstanding commitment this season with almost 10 metres improvement from last year with the adjusted javelin specs. No doubt he will make this PB official before the end of the season.

Another mention to Cushla who not only was her age groups champion but also placed first in all events. Her massive high jump of 1.47m only 1cm off the school record, which we have no doubt she'll break next time!

Well done to Cameron, Cushla, Merrin, Sammy, Harriett, Tillie, Zoe and all our athletes competing in their sports days. If we have left anyone out please get in touch!
