Caley Shield finals day results:

Tayside 50
Highland 0

Tayside set out their stall from the get go and took it to Highland from kick off. Highlands initial defence was strong and knocked back the Tayside attack, however they were unable to match the phase play and tempo set by the Tayside ladies.

Link up play between forwards and backs was of a very high standard and this then earned the right to play wise and exploit the gaps created.

Tayside’s dominance told in the end as they kept the scoreboard ticking up to the 50 point mark and the match was called as a contest.

Great way to finish off our competitive season and the win very much deserved for the ladies efforts through both the National Cup and Caley Cup adventures. Both of tournaments saw the ladies pick up silverware, with 2 shields.

Very proud of all the ladies that took to the field for Tayside and a privilege to be part of the journey.

Just like to wish Montrose Junior Rugby. U16’s the best of luck this afternoon as the play at Caley finals day in Aberdeen.
