SAMT IS GROWING! ✨📣

We are SO excited to finally share some very exciting news… for the first time ever, we’re expanding our teaching team at Sophie’s Academy of Musical Theatre! ❤️

As SAMT continues to grow, we’re thrilled to be able to offer even more opportunities for our students, and from November, we’ll be adding TWO new Friday classes to our weekly timetable, taught by our newest member of the SAMT team… Benji Pollitt! 🧑‍🩰

Many of you will already have seen Benji popping up on our page ahead of his October half term workshops, and we’re so excited that he’ll now be joining us as SAMT’s first ever additional teacher!

Benji has a wealth of performance experience, with local credits including Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Lumière in Beauty and the Beast and Rooster in Annie, alongside being Runner Up Of Dance Master Great Britain 2025!

His passion for musical theatre, dance, performance and teaching makes him a brilliant addition to SAMT, and means we can expand what we offer our students with specialist training alongside our existing classes.

A little word from Benji himself - “ I’m SO excited to be joining the team at SAMT, everyone is so fun and welcoming and I can’t wait to explore all the new opportunities this fabulous academy of performers holds.”

NEW FRIDAYS AT SAMT - FROM NOVEMBER! 👇🏻

✨ 4-5pm | TRIPLE THREAT | Ages 8-18
A second weekly option for our hugely popular Monday Triple Threat class. Combining singing, dancing and acting, with a focus on developing confident, versatile performers across all three disciplines.

✨ 5-6pm | THEATRE DANCE TECHNIQUE | Ages 10-18
A completely NEW class at SAMT, focusing specifically on dance technique for musical theatre. Developing strength, flexibility, turns, kicks, leaps, performance and technique, while exploring a range of musical theatre dance styles.

Seeing SAMT continue to grow and reach the point where we can welcome another teacher into our little academy is incredibly exciting, and we can’t wait to see what this next chapter brings. 🥹

And what better way to meet Benji than at his October Half Term Workshops on Wednesday 28th October, before our new weekly classes begin! (See previous posts for more information, VERY FEW spaces remain)

Our lovely tots had a great first week back last week, doing our very own version of ‘9 to 5’ - giving us their best ‘angry work faces’ ⏰😤😀

Our Tots Musical Theatre Classes cater for children 3-6 years - and due to students moving up, we currently have space in both our Wednesday late Afternoon & Saturday Morning sessions.

A fab first week back, more singing & dancing to Dolly in our Musical Theatre Groups, a super fun new song started with Glee Club and some Charity idea initiatives being worked on in acting, figuring out how we can use our talents to give back. ❤️

I can’t wait to welcome our Monday classes today & have even more fun this week.

We had a fantastic first day back yesterday, with the Tuesday Junior & Senior Musical Theatre Groups! 🙌🏻

We’re starting the term with our Juniors honouring the late great Dolly Parton - by learning and staging a number from ‘9 to 5 The Musical! And our Seniors are working on their physicality and acting through movement & theatrical dance with Dear Evan Hansen! ⏰🩵

A great start already and I can’t wait to see the rest of you this week! ✨
