Jumping and flat racehorse trainer in the beautiful village of Adlestrop in the Cotswolds. Richard is a Trustee of Heros Charity.

Richard Phillips Racing is a professional racehorse training yard based in the beautiful village of Adlestrop in the Cotswolds. With around 30 horses in training, mainly jumpers but also some flat horses, Adlestrop Stables has wonderful facilities and provides a bespoke experience for horses and owners. Racehorse welfare is at the heart of what we do and our horses are looked after to the highest level with each horse’s individual training requirements met. Based near Wantage, Heros rehabilitates racehorses to riding horses and ensure they find excellent homes once their racing careers are over. Team Adlestrop pride ourselves on our unique, friendly and fun atmosphere at Adlestrop Stables and were winners of the 'Lycetts Team Champion' Award in 2021.

Sumatran Tiger runs in the 3.17pm at Huntingdon today. There are seven runners and Tom Bellamy takes the ride. She ran well over course and distance last season and made a pleasing return on the flat recently. She is a dual Derby winner in Jersey and loves her jumping and we look forward to her being competitive on her return to hurdles.

We are back at Kempton today with Dora Vita in the 4.45pm and Talking Bear in the 8.15pm. Dora has also been treated for ulcers and hopefully this will bring about an improvement as she has shown enough form to be competitive in this event.

Talking Bear runs in a handicap for the first time and was a good third over course and distance on his debut. He may need a bit further in future but this looks a sensible opportunity for him. Callum Hutchinson rides both.

With the recent sale of our longstanding stable sponsor Tori Global, we are looking for a new yard sponsor for the upcoming racing season.

With the majority of our horses in training currently using our stable sponsorship, this is a fantastic opportunity for a company to associate itself with Richard Phillips Racing and gain exposure throughout the year on the racecourse, on our social media and at the stables.

A sponsorship package could include:

🟢 Your company logo on jockeys' racing silks, branded horse rugs and staff clothing providing visibility at both flat and jump race meetings as well as at the yard throughout the year.

🟢Opportunities to host your clients for a morning on the gallops and behind the scenes access to the yard.

🟢Social media and other promotional opportunities associated with the yard and our horses

We feel there is a fantastic opportunity for a company to build a strong relationship with the yard and benefit from the exposure that comes with supporting a racing operation throughout the season.

Please do be in touch with Richard to discuss further.

👀 FOR SALE ⭐️ Smart prospect looking for a new career in which to excel ⭐️

An exciting opportunity to acquire a smart, athletic and well-balanced 16.3hh, 6-year-old unraced thoroughbred gelding with all the attributes to excel in a variety of disciplines.

‘Gary’ is good-moving horse who has been patiently handled. He has done basic schooling in the arena and has three lovely paces. He has schooled over small obstacles, been out on fun rides, and has also been hunting. He is a good ride, can hack alone or in company and in open spaces.

Gary is full of potential and is ready to progress in a new career. He will be sold with a non-racing agreement in place.
Good home essential.

Lovely Dora Vita having a wash off from Delphi. She is declared at Kempton tomorrow 🤞🏻

Three runners today with Six Blue at Leicester in the 2.39pm and Baron Wagstaff and Express Train in the 7.15pm and 7.45pm at Kempton.

Six Blue is taking on heavy ground for the first time but hopefully she will cope in what looks an open race. Seamus Cronin claiming three pounds takes the ride and on some of her previous form she would definitely have a chance of making the frame if coping with conditions.

Baron Wagstaff was a very pleasing second on his last start at Wolverhampton following ulcer treatment and although stepping up in grade, will hopefully build on that run in this one mile three furlong handicap. Rab Havlin once again is onboard.

Rab also rides Express Train in the 7.45pm and he should find conditions in his favour although he has a wide draw. He was a pleasing fourth last time out and appears fresh and well after a break due to an overreach.

Fighting Poet is declared at Southwell today in the 5.30pm – the mile and a half, 0-55 handicap with Rab Havlin onboard. The race is typically competitive for it’s grade however Poet has had a bit of a break since his last run and appears in great nick at home and hopefully will give the Adlestrop Club another exciting watch.
