Moretonhampstead Swimming Pool Moretonhampstead Community Swimming Pool is a 25m outdoor pool heated by renewable energy on Dartmoor, Devon. The 2024 season starts on 25th May.

Full timetable on our website. Moretonhampstead Swimming Pool, on the edge of Dartmoor, is open from May through to September and is run by volunteers. Our fabulous 25m outdoor pool is heated by air source heat pumps and solar power, so you can swim comfortably even when the sun is hiding behind the clouds. The pool offers a grassed social area, hot and cold refreshments, and a timetable that offers a daily general swim for all, lane swimming, aqua fit sessions, swimming lessons, technique coaching, and water polo. Each season we try to introduce new opportunities for improving fitness and confidence in the water for all ages. The pool is also available for hire.

BYE BYE FOR NOW

What a season! It’s been a busy, happy one thanks to you - did you enjoy it as much as we did?

As ever, a huge shout out to our fabulous team of young Lifeguards and Shopworkers who were literally thrown in the deep end this year with a hot, sunny half term (unusual)… and the good weather continued through summer. You were amazing. Only a few dry robe days! Thank you also to our shop volunteers for your time.

We ended the season as we started it, full of energy - our fundraising Dimpsy Swim became a pool party with The Juliettes and DAM. Thank you to the bands. So much positive feedback. We hope you’ll play again next year.

And we’re straight into planning next season now. Only seven-ish months to go… see you in 2027 x

THIS WEEKEND AT MORETON POOL

The final two days of the 2026 season, and we have live music with local bands The Juliettes and DAM, plus a free swim Sunday.

Saturday evening you can come along for a swim whilst the music plays for £7 or purely for the music for £5. The Tuck Shop will be open for hot & cold drinks and whatever is left of our sugar-based stock! All profit from this session will go towards buying a new air source heat pump so you can take a dip in warm waters next season. Our target is 15k and we've got quite a way to go.

Sunday is a thank you day to the community and beyond for your support this season. All swims are free - please book so we know numbers and can organise our staff accordingly. Thank you x

TIMETABLE FOR FINAL WEEK

This season has flown by - must be all the sunshine and blue skies - and we've hit our final week.

Now the school term has started, the first hour of the 2.30 General Swim will be a quiet time at the pool so perfect for young families and adults who prefer a chilled swim. And we're rounding swimmy things off with a Live Music Dimpsy Swim on Saturday and free swims all day on Sunday! Nice...

HOME ED SESSION THIS WEEK

Tuesday 12-2pm - after a summer holiday gap - will be a one off and final Home Ed session for the season. Weather is looking good ie no rain or wind so we look forward to welcoming the home education community for one last swim in the sun (not guaranteed but we're feeling optimistic)
