Being an independent business owner means wearing a lot of hats. Youโre responsible for the decisions, the deadlines, the customers, the highs, and the lows.
But one thing Iโve learned is that looking after yourself has to be part of the business plan too. โค๏ธ
For me, investing in myself means making time for the things that keep me feeling healthy, happy and balanced.
๐๏ธโโ๏ธ Getting to the gym
โณ๏ธ Golf at Morpeth Golf Club Morpeth Golf Club
๐ถโโ๏ธ Going for walks and getting some fresh air
๐ช PT sessions with my local trainer All-Round Athletic Development
๐จโ๐ฉโ๐งโ๐ฆ Spending quality time with family and friends
๐พ Making time for my four-legged family members
๐โโ๏ธ Enjoying treatments from local, trusted beauticians & therapists Northern Skin Co. Julie keenan Sports Massage Therapist
๐ฅ Eating a good, balanced diet
๐ด Prioritising good-quality sleep
Itโs easy when you run your own business to feel guilty about taking time for yourself โ as though you should always be working.
But the truth is, you canโt pour from an empty cup.
Taking time away from work doesnโt mean youโre less committed to your business. If anything, it allows you to come back with more energy, clarity, motivation and perspective.
Your business is an investment.
Your customers are an investment.
Your future is an investment.
And so are you. โค๏ธ
So make the appointment. Go for the walk. Get the workout in. Have dinner with your family. Spend time with the people โ and pets โ who make you smile.
Because building a successful business shouldnโt come at the expense of building a happy, healthy life too. โจ
