SSGS Area Team Championship
-The Landsdowne at Blairgowrie
-Tuesday, 6 October 2026.

Our senior team took part in the senior area team championship at Blairgowrie on Tuesday. The day got off to an unfortunate start when one of our players had to withdraw following an injury sustained in practice the day before, got significantly worse overnight.

This meant a "score 6" could not be discarded and all 5 scores would count. No pressure then!

The white tees were nearly 6,900 yards with most of the flags at the back of the green! Quite a challenge.

Our guys battled away and finished 11th with Graham Rankin (Drumpellier) finishing T3 in the individual event with a 72 (L).

Our congratulations go to the winners Renfrewshire Golf Union, who successfully defended their title.👏🏆

Our thanks go to our team;
Robbie Allan (Lanark)
Sandy Campbell (Larkhall)
Stewart Henderson (Hamilton)
Ronnie MacLean (Hamilton)
John Quinn (Greenhills)
Graham Rankin (Drumpellier)

WOS Inter County League Championship Week 3.
-LGA v Ayrshire GA, Sun. 4.10.26.

A mixed bag for our "A" & youth team yesterday against Ayrshire.

Our "A" team had the privilege of playing Royal Troon yesterday and delivered a fantastic 4.5-3.5 victory at the Open Championship venue.

Well played lads!👏

Star of the show was 15 years old EK kid Cammy Meldrum who delivered an amazing 8/6 victory before heading off for a game of 5 a sides!

Our youth team suffered a rare defeat to a very strong Ayrshire side at Kirkhill by 5.5-2.5.
Well played Ayrshire.👏

To our guys, keep the heads up as I'm sure you will bounce back.👍

Our thanks go to Ayrshire for looking after our "A" team and of course to Royal Troon for giving the guys such a treat.

Also our thanks go to Kirkhill for hosting our youth team match and to the food & beverage team and the greens team. The course was in top condition, as always.👌
