Most groups are capped at around 20 to allow personal attention to all players - and to encourage them all to get equally involved in training and games. The club's coaches have all gained qualifications approved by the Scottish Football Association. Training sessions are always led by qualified coaches and we aim for a high adult:child ratio. We operate under SFA coaching guidelines, with the emphasis on learning to play football in a fun, but structured way. Youngstars is committed to ensuring all coaches and officials go through appropriate Disclosure Scotland checks - and that we have enough members in each group with First Aid qualifications. The club organises regular fundraising/social events and outings for parents and children, as well as an annual tournament that takes place on the 3rd weekend in August each year for all our 7 aside and 4 aside teams. Our tournament keeps growing each year and was attended by more than 400 children and over 1000 people in last year. Musselburgh Youngstars is a club which abides by the principles of fair play and treats football as fun, but which always strives to do its best.
