Caught today three Rainbow Trout in the Learners Lake, lots of team work from children and parents. Ned enjoyed your company too!

Tomorrow will be the last Pass It On event for this year. It’s a great opportunity for youngsters to try a different country activity. Our Coarse Lake and Learners lake will be set up for Pass It On fishing from 10am-4pm any trout caught on the Learners lake will cost £8 each but all guidance for all activities is free, covered by the voluntary contribution of £5 per person to those taking part in the days activities. Bacon rolls, cheese toasties, homemade cake, coffee/tea and cold drinks will be available. We look forward to seeing all the volunteers who make the day such fun and all the visitors. Jacklands Fishing Lakes BS21 6SG Main Fly Lake will be open as usual.

Jacklands Dahlias for sale in the Farm Shop, luckily picked last night and have been enjoying a good drink. A few dahlias can brighten anyone’s day.

The next Pass it on Day to be held at Jacklands Fishing Lakes will be on Sunday 20th September starting at 10am-4pm a chance to try something different, lots of country skills and activities to experience. Perhaps you’ve wanted to try fishing but don’t know what to do, this is your chance to have a go with someone to guide you. Please sign in at the Farm Shop when you arrive. Today we have a few Zinnia in the Farm Shop for sale per stem, these beautiful flowers grown in the picking garden at Jacklands would brighten up anyone’s day. Even the smaller zinnias make a sweet reminder that summer hasn’t gone yet.

Gabby the goose was venturing further into the garden early this morning while I cut more dahlias for the Farm Shop the hens were wandering in too. Gabby was hatched on the 9th June 2009, yes can you believe it he is 17 years old. He is such a character and I love him to bits! Even if he can get a bit grumpy when the male ducks are flirting with the lady ducks, Gabby does not approve. His favourite treat from the garden is lettuce 🥬 🪿

Today we had a delivery of Exmoor Fishery Rainbow Trout, these trout were added to both the Main Fly Fishing Lake and the Learners Lake. The photos today are of the Learners Lake, a popular little lake for families to fish during the Summer Holidays, with our aerated crystal clear Spring fed waters and recent rain stocking today was ideal. No dogs 🐕 🐺 today to supervise as both were fast asleep after an early walk!
