British Horse Society (BHS) and as a Pony Club Link Centre. Based on our family
run farm in Nailswoth, 4 Miles south of Stroud along the A46; Barton End Stables was established by Abby Blackwell in the year 2000 to provide a full range of services and activities for riders of all ages and abilities.

🐴❤️ MEET THE BARTON END TEAM! ❤️🐴

Today we’d like to introduce LACEY, our apprentice and an absolute little gem! ⭐️

What can we say… there’s not much that Lacey doesn’t do! From working on the yard, turning the horses in and out, helping prepare for lessons, taking hacks out — the list is endless! 🐴

Lacey is hardworking, reliable and never moans (well… at least we don’t hear her! 😂). She is genuinely one of the kindest people you could wish to meet, and we feel very lucky to have her as part of the Barton End team. 💙

So, we asked Lacey a few questions…

🐴 Which Barton End horse or pony would you choose to ride for the day — and why?

“Definitely a hard one between Flossy and Rufus! You’re always guaranteed a fun ride with Flossy, and Rufus is always fun to ride as he’s got so much character!”

😂 What’s the funniest or most memorable thing that has happened to you on the yard?

“That’s a hard one, but watching how intelligent some of the ponies are — they never fail to make you giggle!”

🥰 What’s your favourite thing about working at Barton End Stables?

“I love it all! Getting to know new people and also getting to know the horses.”

When you receive a message like this after a first lesson, we are incredibly grateful 💙 THANK YOU for my little girl’s first ever riding lesson today (Violet). Clover was a dream and she had the absolute time of her life - to see her learning something that’s brought me so much joy over the years made me weirdly really emotional. We can’t wait for next week 💜
