🏊♀️ Learn to swim at Nairn Hydrotherapy Trust 💦
Learning to swim is such an important life skill! Our swimming lessons are all about helping children become confident in the water, learn about water safety, keep active and, most importantly, enjoy their time in the water.
We keep our classes small, with a maximum of 4 children, so our teachers can give each child plenty of attention and help them progress at their own pace.
Our pool is also heated to a lovely 33°C, so there’s no cold water here! It’s a warm, safe space for children to learn and build their confidence.
Our swimming programme is for children aged 4 years and over and is split into three stages
🐙 Squids
🐠 Stingrays
🦈 Sharks
Children work through the stages as they develop their swimming, confidence and water safety skills. Our aim is to make sure they are ready to move on to a larger pool when the time comes and continue their swimming journey.
We also offer sessions for children with additional support needs, where a parent or carer can join them in the water.
As a charity run facility, we’re incredibly grateful for the support of our staff, volunteers and everyone who uses the hydrotherapy pool. Every lesson helps us continue providing this special facility for those who need it! 💙

🏊♀️ READY… STEADY… SPONSORED SWIM!!! 🏊♀️
Throughout November, Kirsten and I will collectively be swimming the distance of Loch Ness as we take on a HUGE challenge to raise money for Sophie’s Story. 💛🐻
As baby and pre-school swim teachers, we’re much more used to singing songs, blowing bubbles and helping little ones find their confidence in the water… so we’re stepping out of our comfort zone with this one.
Using the new swim jet at Nairn Hydrotherapy Pool, we’re going to swim the equivalent distance of Loch Ness 🏊♀️
We’re doing it to support Sophie’s Story and their vision of building a children’s hospice here in the Highlands. 💛
We’re hoping to raise £500, and we’d absolutely love our swim families help. If you’d like to support us, our fundraising page is here

Loch Ness, here we come! 😊🌊

Last night we were at a very special fundraiser in memory of Sophie. 💛🐻
Sophie was such a special little girl and I feel so lucky to have met her. 🥰
The evening was all about remembering Sophie, celebrating the beautiful little girl she will always be, and helping to support the vision of a children’s hospice where families can get the care and support they need in the Highlands.
It actually got us thinking about what we could do as a swim school to help… so myself and Kirsten are going to take on a sponsored swim, swimming the equivalent of Loch Ness using the new swim jet current at the hydrotherapy pool! (Watch this space!) 🏊♀️
Definitely a challenge, but one we’d love to take on for Sophie’s Story. 💛🧸

We are running a FREE workshop for our swim families next Friday 11th September, 10:30am–12:00pm at the pool. 💦
Our aim is to give parents and carers the confidence and practical skills to recognise and respond to life threatening emergencies involving babies and children.
The workshop will cover
🫧 Drowning prevention
🩵 Recognising an unconscious baby or child
🩷 Baby & Child CPR
🍇 What to do if a baby or child is choking
💦 Simple water safety tips to help prevent accidents around water
🩷 Hands on practical practice
We truly hope you’ll never need to use these skills, but knowing what to do in an emergency can provide invaluable peace of mind and could one day save a life.
Babies and grandparents are very welcome to come along too! 👶👵🫶
If you’d like to join us for our workshop, please email [email protected]
We look forward to seeing you there! 🫧

After the most stressful couple of weeks and late nights with the pool, with one thing after another, I got the most wonderful feedback tonight that honestly brought me to tears. 🥹
Kirsten has taken over the Wednesday lessons to try and give me a day off, and I know one mum was a little worried about her daughter having a new teacher. But they absolutely loved it! 💖 Kirsten made them feel so welcome, and it was just the loveliest feedback to receive.
And it’s not just Kirsten, our pool assistants and volunteers are absolutely fabulous, constantly going above and beyond to help all our swim families. 😊
Credit where credit is due, I am so incredibly lucky to have such a fabulous team of women and mums around me. 🤗🌱
You are always welcome exactly as you are, no matter what you’re going through. The pool is a safe place. And please don’t worry if your little one is having a bad day, believe me, we’ve seen it all! 🤣
I feel so lucky to do the work that we do. Teaching your little ones to swim is a pure joy, and thank you for bringing a little sunshine into our days too. ☀️🌈
Feeling very grateful tonight. 🥰🩷
