What a night for these strong ladies - PBs all round! 💪🏻🔥

🏋🏻‍♀️ Alice lifted 15kg dumbbells for 4 perfect reps
🏋🏻‍♀️ Charlotte lifted 17.5kg dumbbells for 4 strong reps
🏋🏻‍♀️ Heather lifted a whopping 20kg dumbbells for 6 reps!

The support they showed one another was just as impressive as the lifts. Everyone was encouraging each other on and genuinely celebrating every PB.

I’m incredibly proud of them all and feel very privileged to work with such a brilliant group of strong women 🧡💪🏻

Meet some of Britain's strongest women 23/07/2026

This week, ITV This Morning shone a spotlight on some of Britain’s strongest women ahead of the Britain’s Strongest Woman competition. Reigning champion Lucy Underdown, alongside competitors Naomi Hadley and Claire Myler, spoke about the strength, determination and dedication it takes to compete at the highest level.

Strength training has come a long way. It’s no longer about fitting a stereotype or simply lifting the heaviest weight possible. It’s about building a stronger body, improving confidence, protecting our bones and joints, supporting long-term health, and proving to ourselves what we’re capable of.

Whether you’re aiming to deadlift double your bodyweight or simply want to carry the shopping with ease, play with your children or grandchildren, or stay independent as you get older, strength training has a place for everyone.

Our fitness community celebrate every version of strong. Every PB. Every first push-up. Every extra kilogram lifted. Every person who walks through the door wanting to become a stronger, healthier version of themselves.

Our small group strength sessions are designed for all abilities, whether you’re completely new to lifting or looking to build on your current training. Join us every Tuesday at 6:30pm or Thursday at 7:15pm in a supportive, welcoming environment where the focus is on getting stronger, moving better and enjoying the process together.

Because strength isn’t defined by how much you lift…
It’s defined by what you achieve.

📩 If you’d like to find out more about our group sessions or personal training, send me a message—I’d love to help you get started

Sofa to Saddle 22/07/2026

🚴 From an idea to an app that could help thousands of people get moving again.

A huge congratulations to my sister-in-law Georgie Lindsay, and the incredible team at British Cycling, alongside Lloyds Bank, on the launch of Sofa to Saddle. 👏💚

For the past six months they’ve been working behind the scenes to bring this project to life, from the initial concept right through to today’s launch (with a bit of fun involving Joe Marler along the way! 🤪).

What I love most is the idea behind it. We all know someone who wants to be more active but doesn’t know where to start. Research showed the average Brit now spends over 18 hours a week on the sofa, and while 70% of people say they want to exercise more, practical barriers often get in the way.

Sofa to Saddle is designed to change that! Helping people build confidence, get back on their bikes and rediscover the joy of moving.

As a personal trainer, I’m always passionate about anything that encourages people to move more, so it’s brilliant to see initiatives like this making cycling more accessible.

Congratulations on creating something that has the potential to make a real difference. 💚🚴

If you can, give the app a download and show the team some support!

Why are we throwing a tennis ball in the gym? 🎾

It might look like a simple game, but it’s actually an important part of our falls prevention.

Today’s session started with a variation of the Turkish Get-Up—a functional movement that teaches clients how to safely get up and down from the floor. This builds strength, mobility, coordination, and confidence, while also giving clients the skills they may need if they ever do have a fall.

We then progressed to catching a tennis ball, which helps improve:

✅ Hand-eye coordination
✅ Reaction time
✅ Balance and stability
✅ Cognitive function through quick decision-making
✅ Dual-tasking skills by encouraging the brain and body to work together
✅ Confidence when reacting to unexpected situations

Falls prevention isn’t just about building stronger muscles, it’s about improving the body’s ability to react, recover, and stay steady when life throws something unexpected your way. (Like a moth 🤪)

And the best part? …..
There were plenty of smiles and laughter along the way! Exercise should challenge you, but it should also be enjoyable.

Today's cycling stats:

Planned: A glorious long ride.

Reality:
do 13 miles.

Chain fell off (managed to get it back on 💪🏻).
🛞Puncture.

🚜 Hands looking like I've been servicing tractors all day.

📞"Hi Dad... are you busy?"
Turns out my bike had other plans today! Managed to sort the chain myself, but the puncture was the final straw. Thanks to my personal recovery service (Dad) James Lindsay for coming to the rescue!

Rest day from swimming, biking and running… so I decided to try tennis. 🤪🎾 (Thanks John) Kaye Moran

Safe to say I won’t be swapping triathlon for Wimbledon anytime soon! 😂 I laughed my way through the whole hour, missed more balls than I hit, but had such a great time with the hubby!

It’s nice to step outside your comfort zone every now and then and remember that exercise is meant to be fun!

Now it’s back to what I know best! 💪

Burn is on tomorrow at 9:30am at Studio 121 Personal Training - Nantwich. Whether you’re a regular or thinking about coming along for the first time, everyone is welcome. Come and get a great workout, have some fun, and start your day feeling stronger! 💪

👏 Shout out to Val and Cynth, who join me every Tuesday and continue to prove that age is no barrier to learning new skills and building confidence.

For the last two weeks, we’ve been focusing on slips, trips and falls, not just how to prevent them, but what to do if you find yourself on the floor and need to get back up safely when you’re alone.

Using a modified version of the Turkish Get Up, we’ve been practising techniques that help them transition from lying on the floor to their hands and knees, creating a much stronger and safer position from which to stand.

These skills are about far more than exercise. They’re about maintaining independence, confidence and resilience in everyday life.

Both ladies have embraced the challenge with determination, humour and a willingness to learn. I’m incredibly proud of their progress. 💚
