First things first — a HUGE thank you to everyone who has already put their name forward. You are absolute legends and we couldn’t do this without you. ❤💙

Now for the slightly scary bit: it’s under three weeks until we host our biggest and toughest race yet.

The SC20 is a marshal-heavy race, so it really is all hands on deck to make sure it can go ahead. If you (or your family, friends, neighbours, anyone you can gently bribe with cake) can spare a few hours on Sunday 6th September 2026, we’d love to have you.

Here’s where we still need help:

🚴‍♀️ Lead Bike — 1 NEEDED

🚴‍♀️ Sweeper Bike/Runner — POSITION FILLED ✅

🧑‍🏫 Volunteer Coordinator (pre-race) — 1 NEEDED

🚗 Car Park Attendants (pre-race) — 3 NEEDED

🧑‍🏫 Race Desk (pre-race) — 2 MORE NEEDED

🦸‍♂️ Marshals (during race) — we have 45 points and need around 55 people including water station attendants — 24 STILL NEEDED (minimum!)

🏅 Gift Hander-Outerers (post-race) — 2/3 NEEDED

Marshalling is genuinely one of the best days out in the club calendar — you get the best view of the race, the runners are wonderfully grateful, and there’s a real buzz around the whole course.

If you’ve volunteered before and had a spot you loved (or a spot you’d rather never see again), let me know and I’ll do my best to sort you out.

We know our runners are at the heart of the South Cheshire 20, but we mustn’t forget the people who come along to support them too!

Bringing the little ones along? Our indoor bouncy castle will be available from 11:00 - 14:00, giving our youngest supporters somewhere to have some fun while they wait for the runners to come through! 🎉

🍰 CHARITY CAKE SALE
And what better way to enjoy race day than with a slice of cake? We’ll have a selection of delicious cakes available to buy, either cash or card payments are welcome with proceeds going towards the British Heart Foundation. ❤️

So come along, support the runners, grab a slice of cake and let the kids bounce their way through race day!

We have runners joining us from Staffordshire, Shropshire, Derbyshire, Merseyside, South Yorkshire, the West Midlands, Wales and beyond! With 28 different running clubs being represented Trentham Running Club leads the way with the most runners signed up besides our own 👏
