🎭 Neath Arts Festival Returns This October

From music and literature to art, drama and local history, Neath Arts Festival is back from 15th-18th October, bringing four days of culture and creativity to venues across Neath town centre.

The packed programme includes a homecoming performance from internationally acclaimed jazz pianist Joe Webb, appearances from well-known names including Larry Lamb, Jeffrey Holland, Elizabeth Alker and Huw Stephens, plus a wide range of talks, exhibitions, performances and community events.

Visitors can also enjoy art exhibitions, photography displays, heritage talks, free live music events and the return of the Neath Symphony Orchestra, performing for the first time in 50 years.

Whether you're a music lover, bookworm, history enthusiast or simply looking to try something new, there's plenty to discover throughout the festival.

🎭 Mae Gŵyl Celfyddydau Castell-nedd yn Dychwelyd y Mis Hydref Hwn

O gerddoriaeth a llenyddiaeth i gelf, drama a hanes lleol, mae Gŵyl Celfyddydau Castell-nedd yn dychwelyd o 15 i 18 Hydref, gan ddod â phedwar diwrnod o ddiwylliant a chreadigrwydd i leoliadau ar draws canol tref Castell-nedd.

Mae'r rhaglen llawn adloniant yn cynnwys perfformiad dychweliad y pianydd jazz clodwiw rhyngwladol Joe Webb, ymddangosiadau gan bobl adnabyddus fel Larry Lamb, Jeffrey Holland, Elizabeth Alker a Huw Stephens, ynghyd ag amrywiaeth eang o sgyrsiau, arddangosiadau, perfformiadau a digwyddiadau cymunedol.

Gall ymwelwyr hefyd fwynhau arddangosfeydd celf a ffotograffiaeth, sgyrsiau am dreftadaeth, digwyddiadau cerddoriaeth fyw a dychweliad Cerddorfa Symffoni Castell-nedd, sy'n perfformio am y tro cyntaf ers 50 mlynedd.

🎭 Take a look inside Yr Aelwyd, Port Talbot's Theatre.

The transformation of the former Princess Royal Theatre is continuing, with the venue set to reopen in 2027 as a major theatre and entertainment space for Port Talbot. The redeveloped venue will host live performances, music, comedy, family shows and community events, while providing modern facilities for audiences and visitors.

Named after the Welsh word for "the hearth", Yr Aelwyd will be a place where people can come together, share experiences and celebrate creativity at the heart of the community.

⚽ A huge congratulations to Neath Port Talbot's own Kit Margetson on signing for Manchester United!

The Wales Under-21 goalkeeper has completed his move from Swansea City to Old Trafford after an impressive season with Connah's Quay Nomads, where he helped the club qualify for European competition.

We're proud to see local talent making its mark on the biggest stage and wish Kit every success in the next chapter of his career.

🎠 One of Wales' oldest and best-loved traditions returns this September as Neath Fair comes back to town!

For five days, Neath will be filled with the sights, sounds and excitement of fairground rides, games, food stalls and traders from across the UK. The funfair will be located at Milland Road, featuring everything from thrill rides and dodgems to family attractions, while the streets of the town centre will be packed with stalls selling artisan foods, clothing, gifts, homewares and much more.

Now in its 746th year, Neath Fair remains one of the oldest chartered fairs in Wales and Europe, attracting thousands of visitors each year and continuing a tradition that dates back centuries.

🎨 A stunning new mural celebrating Welsh actor and singer Ivor Emmanuel has been unveiled in Pontrhydyfen.
Painted on the side of The Colliers Arms by renowned mural artist Dave 'Gnasher' Nash, the artwork honours one of the village's most famous sons, best known for his role as Private Owen in the classic film Zulu.
The mural was commissioned by the Burton Bont Festival Group, a community organisation dedicated to celebrating and preserving Pontrhydyfen's rich history and heritage. Through projects like this, the group continues to shine a spotlight on the people, places and stories that make the village so special.
A fantastic community achievement and another great reason to feel proud of our local heritage. ❤️
