Garden Village Juniors AFC

Today our U12 girls travelled to Ystradgynlais for the first of our seeding games and it was a really good performance from the girls from start to finish.

We started the game really well, moving the ball around, looking for the right passes and creating plenty of chances.

Our first goal came after a great run from Emily, who put a lovely ball into the box for Sofia to finish. Emily was involved again soon after, this time finding Ava who finished well for our second. ⚽️👏

The third came from some great determination from Elsie in the middle of the park. She battled to win the ball and found Sofia, who produced a brilliant strike into the top corner.

We continued to play some really good football, with the girls looking strong all over the pitch. Emily and Amy A-R both got themselves on the scoresheet before half time.

One of the most pleasing things today was seeing the girls trying to play football the right way. At the back we looked composed, weren't afraid to pass the ball around and switched the play well to help start our attacks.

The goals continued in the second half, with Sofia adding another three to her tally, while Ava and Amy A-R also grabbed their second goals of the game.

Iris also got herself on the scoresheet with probably one of the goals of the day, hitting a brilliant strike from distance into the top bins.

Mya didn't have loads to do in goal, but when she was called upon she was ready, pulling off a great save to make sure we kept the clean sheet. 🧤👏

Overall, a really good team performance and plenty of positives for us to take away from the game.

Credit to Ystradgynlais as well. Their girls kept going and competing right until the final whistle and we wish them all the best for the rest of the season. 🤝

A great start to the season for our U14’s Boys, they took on the league champions Gorseinon Athletic in their season opener and came away with a 4-2 victory. 💪🏻

After weeks of preparation, training and anticipation, the 2026/27 season finally gets underway this weekend — and we can’t wait to see our Garden Village boys and girls back out on the pitch! 💜🤍🖤

Across Saturday and Sunday, our competitive teams will be pulling on the shirt and kicking off their league campaigns, with matches taking place at Stafford Common and across the region.

For some, it’ll be another exciting season representing the Village. For others, it’ll be their first competitive game as part of our great club — but for everyone, it’s the beginning of a brand-new chapter. 🙌

A huge amount of work has gone on behind the scenes from our players, coaches, volunteers and families to get us ready for the new season, and now it’s time for the football to do the talking! ⚽💪

If you’re around Stafford Common this weekend, come down, get behind the teams and help us start the season with a fantastic atmosphere! 👏📣
