Nelson Cricket Club, established in 1861, are one of the founding members of the Lancashire League and are the current record holders for winning more league titles than any other Lancashire League club. Tyler Extends Nelson Stay!!
NCC are delighted to confirm that Tyler McGladdery has signed a new two-year deal. Tyler’s return to his home club has already produced 1,176 runs @ 65.33 in all competitions, including 4 centuries, alongside 37 wickets at 18.56.
A message from our Chairman, Andrew Pettinger:
“As Chairman, I’m delighted that Tyler McGladdery has signed a new two year deal. This means that he’s contracted as our Professional and 1st XI Captain until at least the end of the 2028 cricket season, with the hope and expectation on both sides of a cricketing relationship lasting much longer than that. Since his playing return to his home club this season, Tyler’s runs, wickets, coaching, captaincy and energy have been transformational in making our 1st XI competitive once again. Our 1st XI is currently top of its division with two games to play - not something I have personally said before.. Thank you Tyler, well done, and long may our progression as a club continue.

A big weekend!!.. 💙🏏
Alongside this weekend’s fixtures, we’ll also be welcoming two brilliant fundraising challenges back to Nelson on Sunday.
Liv and Freya will complete their ultra-marathon challenge around 10 local cricket clubs, raising money for the Ruth Strauss Foundation and Pendleside Hospice , with their final lap finishing right here at Nelson CC.
We’ll also be welcoming Ben Hartley as he completes his incredible walk between the Lancashire League grounds his late dad, Chris, played at.
Chris played for Nelson from the late 60s through to the early 90s, and Ben is retracing those cricketing memories in his honour while raising money for Pendleside Hospice . His four-day route finishes on Sunday with the final leg from Burnley to Colne and then home to Nelson 💙
Plenty happening on the field this weekend, but an extra-special Sunday at Seedhill 🫶🏼

This Sunday, our Liv and Freya will be taking on an Ultra-marathon, running between 10 local cricket clubs to raise money for the Ruth Strauss Foundation and Pendleside Hospice.
The route will take them from Clitheroe CC through to Ribblesdale Wanderers CC, Whalley CC, Read CC, Padiham CC, Lowerhouse CC, Burnley CC, Burnley Belvedere CC and Colne CC, before finishing back at Nelson Cricket Club!! 🏏
If anyone would like to join Liv and Freya for one of the legs, you’d be more than welcome 😍
They’ll finish the challenge with one final lap around the ground at Nelson on Sunday afternoon.. give them a cheer if you see them along the way ❤️🏏
