Here we are again. The start of another season for all our Junior Teams. Though it doesn't feel like it, it's only been 3 years since we only had just two Junior teams. It seems like overnight we hit double figures, and have stayed there!
With some new faces this year, and plenty of old ones, a big shout out to all our parents, volunteers and close friends who made everything we do possible!
Big thanks to Rachael Catherine Lea in the tea room, and Jess, Katy Fowler plus the army of helpers to feed and water all our visitors this weekend!
🔴⚫️ Ollerton U10 Red (W) v (L) Lowdham U10s 🔴⚫️
Great start for the U9s Red in the U10s league getting the win over Lowdham U10s.
Dominant first half performance, worked hard for each other winning first and second balls all over the pitch.
Second half we managed to hold on to the lead but our performance dropped off compared to the first half. I think you could start to see the age difference in speed and fitness towards the end but they battled well to get then win.

🔴⚫️ Ollerton Town U10 Blue (L) vs (W) Rainworth Pythons U10 🔴⚫️
Sunday football and we’re back for the first game of the 26/27 season. The new look u10s were in action against a capable and solid Rainworth pythons side.
I want to start by saying that for 4 of the lads playing today it was their first competitive fixture and are learning and developing on the job. Nothing like being thrown in the deep end, however with saying that they definately didn't sink but swim. With the lack of experience as a team the building blocks and foundations are there for us to build and every one of them lads fought to the end. After a difficult first start we were much improved in the second even getting two players on the scoresheets in Harry and Oscar. A quick finish with Harry and a tap in from Oscar got us two deserved goals from the squads hard work and never say die attitude.
A quick shout out to Miles who’s endless energy and willingness to run himself in to the ground for team does not go unnoticed.
We aim to be more competitive in the future and will take a lot of hard work and with the right attitude, focus and mentality we can achieve it. A bit more composure in the middle of park and wide areas providing the right passes we could have created a lot more chances.
We do also need to show a lot more strength in the tackle and not be pushed around so easily. A bit more aggression and timing of the tackle is needed to not allow teams to dominate in possession and move past players so easily. This will be more of a focus point going forward in training. All in all we now have a base and level to build on.
Well done lads.

Parents MOTM - Today goes to Henry with another player fresh to the team. What a start this lad has had. Starting to find a nice role in the midfield ,some of his passes in the middle of the park and energy throughout was great to see. His eagerness to listen and learn coaching points from the sidelines and then implement them on the pitch is a great trait. 🔥⚽️
Managers player - Goes to mr consistent and very capable goalkeeper. Spenny is the heartbeat of the team leading from the back and showing the team what’s levels are expected to succeed. Without spenny week in week out the scoreline would be much higher. He is a much appreciated asset to the team and growing into a great role model in his performances. 🔥⚽️
Shout out to our sponsor Royale Mobility for their continued support.
🔴⚫️ Ollerton Town U9 Black (L) vs (W) Hucknall U9 Warriors🔴⚫️
Unfortunately, it wasn’t our day today as we came away with a defeat against Hucknall U9 Warriors.
The first half was a difficult one for us. We didn’t seem to be fully switched on from the start and looked a little reluctant to get involved, particularly when it came to making tackles and challenging for the ball. The conditions certainly didn’t make things any easier either, with a very bobbly pitch making it difficult to play the football we know we can.
However, the biggest positive was that the team grew into the game. We started showing more determination, getting stuck in and competing much better as the game went on. We managed to get ourselves a consolation goal, which was deserved for the effort the team had started putting in.
There’s definitely something for us to work on. We need to be braver in tackles, more determined when challenging for the ball and not be afraid to get stuck in. These are things we’ll keep working on in training.
A special mention to Harry, who stepped into goal for the first time today with Chester absent. It’s never easy taking on a new position, especially in goal, but Harry put in a really good performance. There were a couple of mistakes, but that’s completely understandable when playing in a position you’re not used to. He showed a great attitude and deserves plenty of credit for stepping up. 👏
🏆 Manager’s POTM: Harry
🏆 Parents’ POTM: Lilly
Well done to both of them and a big well done to the whole team for not giving up and continuing to improve as the game went on.
We’ll take the lessons from today, keep working hard and come back stronger next week. 💪⚽
🔴⚫️Ollerton Town U12’s 5-4 Walesby Titans U12’s 🔴⚫️
A game of 2 halves in this Derby match!
It took the boys a good 5/10 minutes to settle into the game but once they did they dominated the 1st half and the football on display was fantastic from the boys 🔥🔥
Their determination to win everything ball, Passing out from the back and the link up play was outstanding 👏🏻👏🏻
2nd half we dropped of a lot and let Walesby back into the game with sloppy play and not wanting to challenge for the ball like we did in the 1st half.
Same as last season…. The boys need to be switched on for the entire game, Every position is up for grabs and only giving 💯 effort in training & games will guarantee your spot and the boys agree with this.
But at the end of the day a win is a win and the boys deserved the victory! ❤️💪🏻🖤

🔴⚫️ Barrowby Blacks U14 (1) vs (4) Ollerton Town U14 Blue 🔴⚫️
Our first match at 11 a side, playing a year up, and you couldn’t tell, the lads played some fantastic football, battled hard for every ball, a really competitive match that we managed really well!
Going a goal down against the run of play, we reacted well and didn’t let it stop us trying to control the ball.
Harry got us level from all of 30 yards with a brilliant effort and we went ahead soon after with a neat finish from Jack at a corner.
Jack made it 3-1 at half time with a lovely low finish.
A well fought second half was looking to be goalless until a great run from Harry down the left resulted in a rifled effort from Harley flying past the keeper off the bar!

Man of the match could’ve gone a number of ways today, really impressed with everyone's level of commitment and effort, but it went to Jack, played 3 different positions including filling in defence fornthe second half! ⭐️
Fantastic from everyone today! If we put that level of effort in every week it’s going be a brilliant season!

🔴⚫️ Ollerton U13 Girls (3) - (1) Arnold Eagles 🟣⚪️
A fantastic start to the new season for the girls with a brilliant 3–1 win against a strong Arnold side who came down from Division 1. Ollerton started quickly, with Libby opening the scoring inside the first minute, and from there produced a really positive team performance. The girls worked hard out of possession, defended well and showed plenty of confidence to get the ball down and play football.
Danielle doubled the lead early in the second half before Arnold pulled one back to make it 2–1 and set up a tense finish. Charlotte produced some excellent saves when called upon, before Libby grabbed her second late on to seal the points. A great all-round performance, plenty of positives to build on and the perfect way to start the season!
🔴⚫️ Ollerton Town U15 (8) vs (3) Riverside U15 🔴⚫️
Going 3 nil down in 1st 20 mins was a killer but made the changes to deal with a long ball team .
Massive well done to the lads it was tough to take when we play football and your up against a team with 2 fast up top strikers so…
🔴⚫️ Ollerton u14 reds 2-2 Meden vale u14s 🔴⚫️
Challenging game, first 15mins we dominated the pitch but struggled to finish, after that Meden vale focused on there 6 foot wingers 🤣🤣 but we kept them back, perfect example that size doesn't matter, in the second half we bagged 2 great goals, but each time we slowed down and let them equalise. Great lessons and just in time for the season.

A big thank you to our sponsor "Elys Army" a local charity in the name of Ely who fought a incredibly rare type of brain tumour and sadly lost his fight at the age of three. The charity raises funds for great causes, and we hope to help throughout the season.
